2024 Olympics - Day -2/-1/0 (July 25-27)

True :P

Personally I don't think having been a flagbearer at the Commonwealth or Pan-am games should preclude you from being a flagbearer at the Olympics. It's a very different beast.

Maybe if we were a small/medium sized nation I’d agree, but we have so many options.

Like in Tokyo? :p

I don’t know, I feel like Charron shouldn’t have been chosen. She’s already been a flagbearer at a major (ish) sporting event, let someone else experience it.

Won't hear me defend the picks for Tokyo. Their hands were tied to a point, but I don't feel much need to rationalize them either

I think Hirayama was actually a pretty decent choice! And would have been even if COVID wasn't a factor.

Random personal story I thought I’d share with everyone, even though I’m sure no one cares.

Today (like the all of the Olympic days) I slept early afternoon, and set my alarm to 10:00pm…

I ended up waking up at 8:00pm, so 2 hours before my goal (I’ll probably go back to sleep, at least try to), and my first thought when I looked at the clock on my phone is that I thought I slept all through the night and into the morning :yikes::facepalm::rofl::roflmao::lol:

Took me a good 15 minutes to realize that I had in fact not slept through Day -1.

We've all been there. I recently took a trip across the world, took about 24 hours to get there. Arrived in the evening, went out for some celebratory drinks and then to bed in my airbnb bedroom. Woke up at some point, pitch black, had no idea where or when I was. Took a while to even find my phone and figure things out.

After 12 arrows Chenier is 51st. She will need to improve a lot to even stand a chance of making it in the mixed team

Now up into the top 30!

Chenier finishes Qualification at 649 and 33rd rank.

I think her PB is 652 so that’s not a bad result for her.
