Sad for the result, but the first judo medal now in 2024 olympic for :KOR

One win and one lose between World championship and olympic. Good game.

I can't understand why Deguchi won... Referees are really influencing

Well it’s simple actually.

Huh faked a lot of attacks, which led to her 3rd shido.

Not sure why all the controversy…

It was an ugly performance by all of the women in this weightclass, including Deguchi, and very bittersweet she only had one (?) throw during the entire competition (pretty sure) with a waza ari against Cysique in the semifinals that got retracted but well she won gold and that’s all that matters.

I’m not an expert on judo mind you, but I’ve done a lot of research on the rules so I think so. Might’ve misread something ;)

Klimkait probably thinks she could also win Olympic gold by everyone else getting shidos

Ironically she was on the other side of that xD

Obviously Deguchi didn't perform well but, like, Huh wasn't fighting any better. By my (albeigh pretty surface level) understanding of judo rule this was a reasonable albeigh very anticlimactic result.

To me this feels more like a problem with the rules than anything else.

Did you watch judo when they still had koka & yuko and converted penalties into a higher score? Or one higher score was worth more than multiple lower scores?

They simplified the rules already ;)
