R8 is over. QF in Men´s and Women´s tomorrow.

 

Top #6, #7 and #8 seeds (Guatemala, Ecuador and Cuba) out in Mens´s. Top 8 seeds advance to QF except #8 (Chile) in the Women´s side.

      it was all expected, tbh fencing has now become a truly global sport if there's a sport that deserves to increase its olympic quota places (both in the team and individual events), that's fencing ioc can't ignore the elephant in the room

      Overall, all of Old Europe is poorly here: France - 0 medals, Germany - 0 medals, Italy - 1 bronze, Hungary - 1 bronze. For many years the fencing authorities' policy has been to give greater support to Asia and other new emergent countries: Africa, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Georgia, etc., and perhaps that's where Europe's crisis? Additionally Russia has returned and is immediately very strong.
