According to the entries:

Men's K1: -

Mens C1: :AUS:COK:NZL compiting for the quota

Women's K1: Only :COK for the quota (:AUS:NZL already qualified)

Women's C1: :COK:NZL for the quota (:AUS compiting but already qualified)

I'm not sure if the Women's event count or no, cause I don't understan this part fully.

The men's K1 quota should be allocated to the best oceanian not qualified according to the World Ranking, but I was unable to find any other Oceanian, so if I didn't read badly it should be reallocated to the next elligeable World Ranking

Unless there's a last minute entry, only the men's C1 will award a quota, the others will be determined through the world rankings. 1st priority goes to Oceania (needs minimum of 3 nations in the ranking for them to be eligible) and then the rest of the world.

As far as I can see the quota won't go to the World Championships

More headaches. Looks like the next nation in line for the Women's K1 in the world rankings is :ALG but what happens if she gets the African quota?

I think she gets the World Ranking quota and the next nation against the African quota

    • As a Habs fan, I'm sorry on a personal level that they're not going to Italy. But both Caufield and Hutson have been tearing it up since the roster was announced, and they are playing in front of Guerin twice to show him what he's missing. As a Canadian hockey fan, I'm also fine with these decisions. Never get in the way of your enemy making a mistake.

    • The Irish Luge Federation has gone to CAS    - The Irish Luge Federation (ILF) has filed an appeal against the International Luge Federation (FIL), challenging a FIL decision on 26 January 2026 concerning Luge athlete Ms Elsa Desmond (Ireland). The Appellant argues that the FIL unlawfully deprived the IFL of a qualifying place for the 2026 OWG by failing to allocate a remaining qualification place and unlawfully allocating qualification places to athletes granted Individual Neutral Athlete (AIN) status.   The ILF requests that CAS declare a failure to allocate them a qualifying place in violation of the FIL Qualification System. It also requests that CAS order the FIL to allocate a qualification place to the Olympic Federation of Ireland to enter an athlete into the women’s singles luge event for the 2026 OWG. - from a CAS press release
