Yeah think this is right. I don’t see France breaking into the top 3 as it stands.

The final in Paris will be a step up from Fukuoka looking at the progression of some squads, e.g. GBR who I didn’t have as medal contenders but the progression of Morgan and Peaty puts them bang in the frame (all hopes on Jimmy regaining his fly ability!)

I don't think France would be favourites for 3rd but I think that they are definitely in with a shout of it.

You've got the US and China who, on form, will be away and gone.

Then you've got Aus, France, GBR and the great unknown of Italy (could be gold medal contenders, could miss the final). I think the medal comes from whichever of those 4 performs on the day. France will have home crowd behind them...you never know.

Yep my comment isn’t writing them off but more to say I have GBR in 3rd behind USA and China as it stands right now. Bronze will be competitive for sure

:AUS Olivia Wunsch with a new PB of 53.58 in the women’s 100m freestyle at the NSW All Schools Swimming Championships! @dullard

Went 24.74 in the 50 as well which is a little off her PB. She's gonna drop more in both at trials for sure. 9 days to go

Y'all should donate some of your 100 freestylers to other countries so that we can have enough swimmers in the event at the Olympics /s.

    • The Technical director of the Dutch Olympic Committee has, using his discretionary powers, decided to include them in the team. He cites “extra-ordinary circumstances”, but has not stated what they are. The use of these powers is quite rare. They were used in 2022 to nominate an alpine-skier.
