These are the sports that most of us watch, the memories that we share. Even if a moment in a smaller sport was exciting for me, as a community these big moments on swimming, athletics, tennis, etc. unite us. Also, it's very hard from something out of the usual to be nominated since people vote for many (and sometimes very specific) different moments, some of which I didn't even knew had happened. My favourite moment this year was definitely the one by Adriana Diaz and Bruna Takahashi after the singles gold medal match at the Pan American Games (especially moving considering they've known each other since they were children). Correct me if I'm wrong @vinipereira It's okay. It would be a problem if everyone shared their favourites, though (just because of the "surprise" factor). maestro and intoronto

To that list I would add two great athletes from the Paralympic world: Jason Smyth (Athletics) and Shingo Kunieda (Wheelchair Tennis). You can add Christine Sinclair to the list, greatest goal scorer in women's soccer of all time? Josh, maestro and vinipereira

My mistake for posting it there, probably should’ve been in the “Men’s Tennis ATP Tour 2023” discussion thread instead. Tom Brady is another notable retirement (don’t know how popular american football is on here though) Edited December 26, 2023 by Josh

That said, my personal sport moment of the year (MvdP road cycling world championship) isn't nominated. But in the end nothing beats watching that incredible race together with my dad, just like when I was young. MVDP’s road race at the Cycling World Championships was another one of my 2023 highlights. But there’s so many notable ones that it’s hard to remember some of them. I know curling isn’t one of the most popular sports on here (I believe only a few users on here actually watch it), but I can’t believe no one nominated it for selection.
