I wonder if there are more medals for Cubans representing other NOCs or for Team Cuba in Paris... Very sad thought actually.

 

Hopefully Wilfredo Leon will get one in M volleyball with Poland anyway.

 

And remember Andy Diaz in M triple jump for Italy.

we also have Frank Chamizo and Abraham Conyedo in Wrestling 

 

there are quite a few Cuban boxers (Lorenzo Sotomayor for AZE is probably the best among them), wrestlers (Yasmani Acosta for CHI), weightlifters (Oscar Reyes for ITA -even if he is in a non-Olympic weight class- and Arley Mendez for CHI) competing for other NOCs

just to name the best

 

Spain has a lot of Cubans in the athletic team (Andres Diaz in Triple Jump) and in the baseball one (and also in other sports like boxing)

 

Azerbaijan and Turkey also have Cubans here and there (Vargas in TUR volleyball women's team the most famous, I guess)

 

and I'm sure there are way more of them, I just don't remember their names right now 

 

p.s. yes, Cuba is still a very strong Nation in boxing, actually, they are still the best team overall (but corrupted boxing authorities never let them win as much as they used to quite a few years ago)

p.s. the only Cuban medals under a different Flag in Tokyo have been won by  Pedro Pichardo (gold in men's TJ, athletics),  Abraham Conyedo (freestyle wrestling),  Loren Alfonso (men's boxing)

 

so, a lot of potential, but in the end not a big deal

 

p.p.s.  still won 4 out of 8 men's boxing gold medals in Tokyo (just to say...)
