Slovenia can still improve on their time in the final, Ireland is on the bubble.

Why are the American teams not there in both 4x100 freestyle relays?

 

Edit: the women, I meant, the men suddenly appeared (or, more likely, I had completely overlooked them :p)

Jokes aside, from the top of my head I believe 13 relay quotas are being awarded in each event?

:IRL not secured as :SLO can still improve their time in the final. Everyone else is secured

They can't field a competitive team so it's a waste of energy for Douglass and Curzan who have large programs.

Wait, what? Is this the first time in history USA can't field a competitive women's 4x100 freestyle team? I genuinely don't remember them not being one of the main medal candidates :yikes: (I guess my memory is wrong, of course, but still)

    • The Technical director of the Dutch Olympic Committee has, using his discretionary powers, decided to include them in the team. He cites “extra-ordinary circumstances”, but has not stated what they are. The use of these powers is quite rare. They were used in 2022 to nominate an alpine-skier.
