Somehow disappointing only 3 slovaks drafted this year, a bit strange if you consider many of the eligible guys were in the teams which ended 3 times in arow in 4th place at the U18 worlds, especially Luka Radivojevič not being drafted is a crime if you ask me... but yeah, whatever :mumble:

From Non-north-american countries this year was :SWE the clear winner, First ever drafted kids from :CHN and :CRO

:SWE 30

:RUS 21

:CZE 11

:FIN 8

:GER 4

:BLR & :SVK 3

:NOR & :SUI 2

:CHN:CRO & :DEN 1

0 drafted guys this year for :AUT or :LAT

The 2025 Drafted Slovaks

Michal Prádel GK Detroit

Michal Svrček FW Detroit

Jan Chovan FW Lalaland

Feels worth highlighting :CHN Haoxi "Simon" Wang being picked 33rd. By far the most promising hockey player to ever come out of China.

Was obvious for quite time but since yesterday it is official.

Thanks for all StopHalák ! One of our best goalies ever. Damn that Vancouver 2010 Bronze medal third period will haunt me forever :(

Will never forget his playoff run with Montreal in 2010. He was on another level those first 2 rounds.

I don’t know why you’re trying to imply as if he’s some ass coach or a snub, because he isn’t :d

He won the Jack Adams Trophy in 2023-24, led us to a division title, and we came up just short of a spot in the WCF losing in 7 to the eventual finalists the Oilers, who lost to the Panthers in 7. He was also on the coaching roster for 4 Nations, which won gold. He’s also a great guy, well liked by everyone. That’s more than enough to warrant a spot IMO.

to me, he's a Tort who couldn't go that far :p

but in this case, I'm only concerned with the fact that his style doesn't suit at all his collegues' (especialky head coach Jon Cooper...they just can't be more different, light and dark, fire and water) and I'm not sure this staff is the best Hockey Canada could put together

we'll see if finally it pays off next February...

A few days ago, Hockey Canada announced 42 men and 30 women that would be invited to the National Teams Orientation Camp. Likely most, if not all of the Olympic Teams will be comprised of these players.
