Namibia with surprising bronze... p.s. really beautiful course (with a lot of people all around), better than some of the world cup regular stops... Just watched a replay of the race. Miller coming through for bronze was awesome! Commentators said he lives in a part of Namibia so remote that he had to build his own course to get some proper race training completed. Course wasn’t my favorite, but the crowds were great. Both races were reasonably enjoyable to follow. “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. Olympian1010 7,936 Posted August 4, 2022 #1130 Share Posted August 4, 2022 Just finishing the mountain bike races was an achievement in itself today. Only 10 men and 5 women registered a final time. Apparently the 18% (of the winner’s time) rule was applied to these races, which I don’t believe was the case in the past… Places 11-15 on the men’s side are recorded as one lap down, but I don’t think they were ever lapped. It’s a shame if they weren’t allowed to register an official time if that’s the case. It would have been nice to see make it to the finish. “Sport has the power to change the world.
