That will shake things up in the lightning event, you typically see 2 men and 1 woman or even 3 men. Looking at the South American Championships we had :ARG and :USA compete with two women and they finished fourth and fifth respectively. No doubt we will see more changes to boat composition over the year.

Nothing too unexpected.

There's a rule that at least three nations must compete for the event to be valid (this might happen in some events), additionally for the mixed events, the crews must be mixed (so no single gender crews qualifying quotas).

Hopefully the other sports publish their qualification pathway soon.

Here's a summary for weightlifting qualification (in Spanish)

Basically they are using the combined team scores from the 2021 and 2022 Pan American Championships and awarding quotas based on nation rankings.

Canada will qualify the bare minimum since the Pan Am championships conflict with the Commonwealth Games.

The good news is weightlifting doesn't have a lot of depth. Only 16 nations competed at the 2021 championships and some only competed with 1 or 2 athletes. Assuming we send our B-team and rack up points (low is better than none) we should be able to have a team of 3 men and 3 women with maybe an outside chance for a fourth woman since Cuba didn't participate at all.

Shooting will have the same number of quotas (256) as in 2019 and same sports program as in Paris. All available quotas will be handed out at the 2022 Pan American Shooting Championships in November, with the winners of each individual event (24 quotas) at the CAC and South American Games also being awarded a quota.
