Which C4 doesn’t seem to have commentary on. The You Tube stream just has the sound from the arena.

A bit late in arriving, but there now.

Suspect this will have major consequences for the Paralympics going forward. Could see a collation of countries wanting to set up up a rivial movement,

Anyway....putting politics aside, we are off with Session 1 of the Mixed Doubles Curling!

Politics is what is going to dominate these games. The IPC might have killed their games going forward long term.

What a beautiful movement, meanwhile three other countries out there can participate without any problem.

But the IPC is only considered a criminal organization if it's a European country.

As we repeat every two years, roughly: no, this is not going to have 'major consequences'.

At least two of those three only have one single athlete, so won't be very visible :p

I suppose the right move was to ban :IRI and :PRK when they supported russian war with weapons or/and soldiers.

The problem - is that is was not done on time

This is a problem that both the IOC and IPC created, and honestly, I don't know what they could do now.

I personally condemn what Russia did to Ukraine, but it's difficult to take the credibility of this ban seriously when there's no justification for it given that other countries ignore the Olympic truce and suffer no consequences. I don't know what the view is in Europe, but I can say that here in Brazil, many question why Russia is banned and others aren't, even considering them unfairly treated.

A "government" boycott is not the same as an ATHLETES' boycott.  All it means is that the Ambassador will not be shown on TV waving at the Team when they walk in.  Many Governments including :GBR & :USA boycotted the Sochi ceremony, for example.  How did Putin respond? By invading :UKR the day the Olympics ended.
