Monzanator 3,602 Posted June 2, 2023 #41 Share Posted June 2, 2023 Elina Svitolina beats Anna Blinkova for the second time in six days - after the Strasbourg final this time she wins RG R3 2-6 6-2 7-5. Elise Mertens completely destoyed (3) Jessica Pegula 6-1 6-3. (2) Aryna Sabalenka beat Kamilla Rakhimova 6-2 6-2 and only conducted a private press conference for journalists allowed by the organizers so no political questions anymore. Wanderer 1,597 Posted June 3, 2023 #48 Share Posted June 3, 2023 Mirra Andreeva has got potential, there is still a workload to do though. Pity Olga Danilovic couldn't finish the match in two, there were chances, but I am also happy to see Jabeur kept fighting. Not sure if she can get to that SF, but with this draw, she really should try her best and not check out at some, especially not against someone like Pera. After Rybakina's withdrawal, WTA needs at least one match between two top ten players, and Swiatek-Jabeur can provide some good tennis too despite Swiatek being the favourite. thepharoah 2,292 Posted June 4, 2023 #49 Share Posted June 4, 2023 Mayar Sherif wasted the easiest chance ever to qualify to a GS Semis , she would have never got a better draw than this in her only good surface , the main problem is that she didn't solve her problems , she has a very big problem with fitness , due collapses when the match goes to 3rd set yet she didn't bring a decent fitness coach , I know sport is very costly and she might not afford money for this , but in Egypt we have a very big problem which is lack of ambition
