Good start in the 3rd period for CAN and unlucky moment for LAT

a very "lucky" goal for Jack Quinn deflected from the Latvian goalie Šilovs´s own mask to his net :p

2:2 at 40:45

People just found out Adam Fantilli is apparently playing at this worlds :p 8 and half matches absolutely shaky, miserable, really but really-really bad and invisible future NHL draft pick number two prospect just scored out of nowhere a real beauty :hyper:

Time 48:56  Canada leading for the first time in this match 3:2

Scott Laughton´s Empty netter at 59:17 ended Latvian dreams

I wish Latvians to win tomorrow the bronze medal (first historic medal for the country at WCh/WOG ever).

Good luck to Canada in the final, but, they really will need to show more than what they did today to challenge a super-speed skating world recordmans-fast USA team level here

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
    • Today : Jordan 3-0 Egypt  This team will surprise us
    • option no.2 for sure, as it's been all this shitstorm organized by the nhl owners through their embedded reporters   ps not that the north american audience looks really aware of the hockey rules and habits outside the nhl (and around their game, too, since they look not to know that just a couple of weeks ago they played 2 nhl matches on an ice sheet of the exact same size of Milan's olympic arena)
    • Are we supposed to take Daly's word for it or is this just public posturing to try and shame the Milan organizers (which they certainly deserve for all the delays) in order to threaten NHL participation?
    • Well that was a disappointing opening ceremony. Not to mention the boss is late too...   Anyway this is another victim of bureaucracy, the initial creative director quit in October and we get this kind of show.   Original plan: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17EVayTpig/
    • Japan missed their last shot with hammer in the 10th last night against the Philippines for them to stay alive.  USA's remaining 2 games are against Philippines and Netherlands, so they have a tough road ahead, although they've already beaten Japan, so that helps for tiebreaker purposes.
    • They have already beaten Japan, so a win would them in a strong place.
