It was different on FloWrestling, 14-6 for Sogabe. :yikes:

Geraei won a challenge after that, and it was 8-7 Geraei. Not sure, what happend there.

Probably the most entertaining fight in greco this year. What a comeback!

that was a shameful match actually. Geraei was dead tired. I mean really "dead" and one of the spectators threw a bottle of water to stop the match for few minutes. helping the "dead Geraei" to somehow resist the Japanese wrestler.

Geraei won the match unfairly but it was obvious he will lose the next one. he barely could stand on his feet. he is cutting too much to make the weight. he had to move up to 77kg but he doesn't because of his older brother.

what a bad day. nobody in the SF and the team title is in danger too. we will see if our 3 wrestlers will be brought back to the repechage or not. Mohammadi and Geraei lost to better wrestlers so I think they have a chance. no chance for idiot Alizadeh for losing to someone 10 times weaker than himself.

I heard that his brother threw that bottle. Rumor has it that he was arrested.

is this an official news ? because some random wrestling pages here also reported the same

if he did that, he deserves to be in jail. that was disgusting. his younger brother is already an Olympic Champion and doesn't need his help. it's better to lose fairly rather than winning like that.

I haven't seen anything reliable. My source is a person who was present but doesn't really know who Mohammadali Geraei is, so take that with a grain of salt.

Cuban wrestlers are weird, they can be average for some years and then bang, beating everybody and win the gold :p Gabriel Rosillo surprised everybody by beating Saravi last night and he didn't stop there, he also beat the great Aleksanyan tonight to be the new king of 97kg.

it was a disappointing day in general, Geraei getting humiliated like that (the match he won against JPN was even more humiliating) Alizadeh lost the a guy he beat 2-3 times before easily  Azerbaijan is going to win the team title

but at least winning two quotas made it a bit better at the end of the day.

Iran and AIN (Belarus) won the remaining quotas in 5th place matches

so here are the quotas for tonight

60: :KGZ:JPN:CHN:UZB:IRI

97: :CUB:ARM:IRI:CZE:BLR

Asia takes all 5 quotas in 60kg :p

Great opportunity for us in 60 Kg , we have a decent wrestler at 60 as well.  Only :KOR wrestler is probably better than ours . If we land a good draw we could have this quota.

    • I have reported this again and they said it should be fixed now, please let me know if you are still facing issues.
    • more countries added to the list of US ban    you can't travel to USA if you are from : burkina faso , niger , Laos , South sudan , mali , sierra leon ...
    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
    • Here's my calculations of the quotas. I believe you are correct about Italy having 3 quotas in men's singles.   Men's Singles   3 Quotas: 2 Quotas: 1 Quota:   data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAPABAP///wAAACH5BAEKAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAICRAEAOw==   Women's Singles   3 Quotas: 2 Quotas: 1 Quota:     Men's Doubles   2 Quotas: 1 Quota:     Women's Doubles   1 Quota:
