rumors say that there'll be 12 groups consisting of 4 each , so it'll be something like archery with round of 24 , maybe the best 4 teams in group stage will get a bye into R16 :d

i'm just kidding , if they will apply the 12 group format , we'll have the standard 2 teams qualifying from each group p.s 8 best 3rd ranked teams in Group stage to qualify to R32 , anyway the winning team will play 2 extra matches instead of 1

Confirmed 48 particpating Nations, 12 preliminary round groups, 32 advance to the KO round (Top 2 of each group and Best 8 3rd ranked)

Great news: Plenty of countries can qualify , Bad News: Certainly not Slovakia

The Italian Super Cup :ITA becomes four teams. :(

This is what emerged in the assembly of Lega Serie A, which formalized the new format of the competition starting from 2024.

The four team will be: 1st & 2nd of Serie A and the finalists of Italy Cup (or 3rd and 4th of serie A if one or both top 2 will be also in final of Italy Cup)

The Lega Serie A has assigned four of the next six editions to Saudi Arabia (2024, 2025, 2028 and 2029), while the venues for the 2026 and 2027 editions will have to be established.

The CEO of Serie A league said:

Quote

We have decided to accept Arabia's offer to host four editions of the Super Cup in six years starting from 2024. The next two editions will take place in Saudi Arabia, then there will be a two-year stop in which it will be possible to play elsewhere as well and then he will return to Arabia for another two years. The next edition will have a four-team format and there will also be a friendly, an instrument chosen to try to help the quality of Saudi football. But the choice of the Final Four format is not definitive: it will also be possible to go back based on the commitments of the clubs" :what:

Need also the the hymn at this absurd decision :toast:

In :BOL the referee apparently added 42 minutes in the 2nd half  The match between Palmaflor and Blooming of the Bolivian national championship lasted 132 minutes in constant rain :p

Milan Škriniar (Inter Milan) and Dominika Škorvánková (Montpellier HSC) are the :SVK players of the Year 2022

Škriniar won the trophy for the 4th consecutive year, but this time it was apparently his closest win so far, only 18 points ahead of "Stanley" Lobotka from Napoli
