The only way this course could be more perfect is if they had to hop that log at the end of the water section.

it's clearly a water section in an equestrian cross-country course

they're lucky that they at least removed the fences to jump over  :p

Honestly, cross country courses should have stuff like that. The manicured golf course races are basically just glorified road races.

There should be hills, mud, water, jumps, rocky bits, etc.

Isn't the World Cross Country Championships supposed to be on in odds years? The next two hosts are 2024, 2026. Anyone know why they changed?

Looking back, it always used to be annual, I suppose it got out of sync because of the lack of willing hosts and COVID.

In British CC we always stage the age group races before the main event. So the under-12s get the advantage of the clear, grassy conditions and the international elite athletes have to wade through conditions that would likely drown sheep.

The worlds in Denmark a few years back had a magnificent hill, so steep it felt like the Ventoux in the 2013 Tour de France, just watching elite athletes go 'out the back' - it was fabulous, and a lovely different look for athletics...

    • Today is a day without Italians in the leads positions. I`m worried that they are not trying to revive this our sprint. There is only one Bosa and he is old. Pergher is young but she is also only one. It is a pity. After the Olympics they will probably 100% give up on the entire sprint. Our medal bag in Cortina will depend 90% on Ghiotto, just like it did on Fabris in Turin 2006. If Ghiotto will be in goodshape, he can even win 2 individual golds + a team medal. If not, it will be a flop. Apart from him, only Lollobrigida can compete in the mass start and possibly Giovannini in the men's mass start.

    • Yes, he is ones of the first supporters of Milei, owner of one of the most important stock market of Argentina (Bull market), he was peronist and for "unknown reasons" start to be libertarian.   Even being libertarian in my case, i have to admit that him is one of the dumbest of "Milei supporters" and a clown when  he is in TV, he made me feel  embarrassed in many occasions.   Camila Giorgi being with him is.......inconceivable.
