Was not expecting Keldiyorova :UZB to defeat Krasniqi :KOS :yikes:

and how she destroyed the 48kg Olympic Gold medallist! :yikes:

the Uzbek girl is really strong, aggressive and has a lot of skills.

she's gonna be a very tough contender for Abe, Krasniqi, Giles and Giuffrida in the hunt for Paris 2024 medals.

however, Judo is the new Basketball/Waterpolo...I mean, the Italians can't win a single fight anymore against any Serbian player...:yikes:  :hairpull:

also Today, 3 Italian women facing 3 Serbian women and guess what? the Serbians won all 3 fights. :nopompom:

and 2 of these 3 losses have to be considered a huge disappointment (Scutto in the -48kg and Toniolo in the -57kg, especially this one coming just after the Italian defeated/destroyed the reigning world Champion Rafaela Silva in the previous round).

Tomorrow I only expect Martina Esposito (-70kg) to do well.

To be fair, Serbian basketball team was rather dissaponting last few times vs Italy :)

Anyways, a nice bronze for Jessica Klimkait :CAN  Should be a great battle between her and Deguchi for the -57kg quota at Paris 2024.

If Klimkait has a better result at the World Championship in Doha, it's almost over for Duguchi for Paris 2024,
Is a stupid move from Deguchi stays in 57kg ...

The alternatives aren't great either. She either bumps out her sister or she has to defeat another top athlete

finally, Esposito got a bronze medal...but at what price?

it was clear that she couldn't continue her fight in the last 30+ seconds of the BMM because she had a severe injury to the left shoulder, she was basically graced by the ref & judges because they didn't want her to lose a match she just dominated until the injury (caused by her opponent).

let's hope it's not too bad, as we're just a few weeks away from the world champs and it would be a true disaster if she can't compete and be competitive in the major event of the season (since she's the absolute key to our team's chances in the team event...actually, without her, we don't have a team at all).

Btw, is there any livescore webplace which doesnt require subscription?

yes, the official IJF website still have the live scoring accessible without any registration...

you have to click on the ongoing tournament in the calendar section on the right side of the homepage and then choose the "draw" menu to watch the brackets or the "contests" menu to watch the single contests list.

meanwhile if you click on the banner "watch live" in the homepage, you're redirected to the login page before you can access the live video feeds.

    • That was known from the start for  and will be planned for.   Sadly just the reality of sports in North America. Canada and the US are both huge, a flight from Vancouver to Halifax or from Seattle to Miami is north of five hours. Every sports league in North America has to deal with this kind of travel logistics on the regular, so none of this will seem particularly unusual to a North American player.
    • That’s not a long distance, it’s barely a 2h flight and there is no difference in timezone. Easily doable for fans as well.

    • That's so they can play in both venues in Canada.  Will mean that the UEFA Path A winner has to go from Toronto to Los Angeles and then up to Seattle.   Someone was bound to draw the short straw in that group since 4 of the matches are Central, but 2 are in Santa Clara.  Unfortunately, that's Algeria.
