Nothing bummer about it, first Dutch yellow jersey in 30 years and by one of the least expected people :d

Sure, it depends from what side you look at it :d

this is the dopers stats of the Tour since 1968

how did they know the 8 dopers of 2019 while the tour didn't start yet

Because I'm pretty sure they just look at the start lists and see how many riders are in there who were ever caught :p I'm sure you understand this is not a list of 'how many cyclists tested positive during the Tour de France in year XXX' :d

No, if he had won all 22 stages in which he finished 2nd, he'd now be one stage behind the Cannibal, the all-time record holder :p

He is 23rd in most stage top-10's by the way, for what it's worth :d

I'm afraid you didn't understand me correctly buddy. I meant a unbeatable record in second places. :d

Right. There are some more painful ones though :d

Sean Kelly: 17 third places, 21 second places...5 stage wins

Stan Ockers: 18 third places, 16 second places...3 stage wins

Again. I sincerely doubt any of them lost the majority of the stages by some cm or even mm like vs Greipel. :(

but in other hand, he is the only to win 3 world titles in a row... so what :d

Yeah I really don't think Sagan has any reason to complain about his list of successes. At all

    • I can finally piggyback off @vinipereira predictions to deliver my own    I'll be honest. I was rather busy during most of the awards season, so I wasn't able to see as much as I wanted to, or normally would have been able to. Therefore, I'm relying heavily on pundit predictions and general feel this time around.     If there was a category for best poster artwork, my nominees would be: Bugonia, Eddington, Dracula, The Sound of Falling, Sirāt   I'd give best animal acting to Pipa from Sirāt   And my favorite scenes from the year are... Kids getting bewitched, Weapons Gladys getting her just desserts, Weapons Car chase, One Battle After Another I Lied To You, Sinners Turn that shit up, Sirāt Playing with arrows, The Love That Remains Street dance, The Life of Chuck Cold open, Warfare Final scene, The Plague Ship prayer, The Testament of Ann Lee

    • Btw I highly recommend the short film 'Butterfly' which has a story related to the Olympics.
    • Once again here I am with my annual Oscar predictions post. Last year I predicted 13/23 winners which was my worst results ever by far. For the second consecutive year Brazil is nominated so I'm hoping that 'The Secret Agent' wins something, especially because it's a film from my home state. I watched 34 out of the 35 feature films (only 'Avatar: Fire and Ash' missing) and all 15 short films nominated, so I leave a personal ranking of all the categories.   ["will win" is my prediction / "could win", my alternate prediction / "should win", my personal ranking / "shoud have been nominated", a way to remember other notable work].
    • I don't know how soon that'll be though... and until then not holding my breath. Really wanted to see Caissie crushing balls at the Olympics, he deserved it for his play this tournament, and now he might not get the opportunity to. He's still young, but this will probably be Canada's best chance, and he'll only be around for Brisbane 2032 at best considering the bids in contention for 2036.    It just sucks, constant disappointment for the Canadians this year with barely anything to cheer for, and coming so close only to come up short... I'd rather us have just lost in the group stage
    • I think instead of allocating 2 spots here (for Americas) WBSC should have allowed 3 spots (rather than 2) in the 2027 WBSC premiere. ( 1 each for Asia, Europe & Americas)   That way it would have ensured two things : ONLY the top team from Americas gets the quota here ( deservedly so) additionally it would have allowed teams from Americas a second shot at qualification from the 2027 premieres.    Getting only 1 tournament , more than 2 years ahead of olympics is very harsh on the teams from Americas.
