the 64 matches did average 3,998,000 viewers and a 24.45% rating, both numbers significantly lower than 4 years ago* (4.45 million viewers and 27.8% rating in 2018).

 

*4 years ago the whole World Cup was broadcasted by the Mediaset TV channels, a private commercial network (owned by the infamous mr.Berlusconi), meanwhile this year all the matches were aired by our public TV channels, RAI.
