Speed Skating ISU Single Distances World Championships 2019

Recommended Posts

Awesome world title for Wüst, after spending half the season visiting best friend and former world champion Paulien van Deutekom on her deathbed several times per week, followed by Van Deutekom's death at 37, this is a really, really cool win.

Where is Leenstra? Tired of 4th places?

She decided to stop skating to focus on her studies.

Wüst!

Expected top 5, but these times are incredible!

This is the first time that Ning Zhongyan to run a 1500m race in international competition.

Yeah, the Dutch commentator mentioned that the only win he had so far was in a local competition in the Netherlands :p (like a billion Chinese skaters he often trains here)

Krol and Pedersen both beating Nuis and Yuskov is a surprise to me.

And I was going to say that China needed some hard work leading up to 2022 as all Chinese skaters seemed to perform worse than last year, but that 19 year old skated an incredible time for a junior.
