There will be 3 YouTube livestreams dedicated towards streaming the games daily (You’ll need a Philippines vpn to access all three). There will be one channel available for international viewers, with coverage limited to about 10 sports. ESPN5 and Rappler have confirmed this.

Aquatics (Swimming and Diving), Athletics, Badminton, Basketball (3x3 and 5x5), Boxing, Football, Artistic Gymnastics, Sepaktakraw, Taekwondo, Volleyball, and E-Sports.

It’s also been confirmed that Billiards, Karate, and Wushu will be some of the other sports livestreamed. More sports will be added to that list apparently.

The organizing committee is coming under fire from Filipinos for the cost of the cauldron for the games. The cauldron supposedly cost $985,000 USD :yikes:. That might honestly be one of the worst wastes of money I’ve ever seen. Unless that thing deals out drugs needed for healthcare, rape kits for prostitutes, and first kits for the inevitable typhoon; the project is an embarrassing and downright disgusting use of government funds.

While it is indeed expensive, actually not much Filipinos are unhappy about it.

Oh, when I looked up the games yesterday when looking for some news and interviews every single story was the organizing committee defending the cost of the cauldron, the stadiums, and athletes complaining about a lack of funds (the media made the games look like quite the farce to be honest).

Of course the media will always blow up the sensational news. But hey we don't even know the price of Asian Games cauldron, it is actually good to see some transparency.

Honestly the Games is expected to be minimalist since Philippines decided to host again after their withdrawal. However what they did is very confusing. They have the biggest sports program ever and now spending big on unrelated stuff. It's like serving a bad quality meat on the most expensive plate ever :lol

Exactly what I’ve been thinking. Hey were too poor to host right now, but if you give us the green light for lavish spending we can make happen :mumble:

    • Hey guys, I contribute Skeleton articles for a new winter-sports focused website called "All things Snow".   I was wondering if any of you could please spare a few moments to read my latest article on the World Cup finale in Altenberg a few weeks ago.   Any feedback on length, content, or just general tips will be greatly appreciated. I'll be sure to implement them in my Olympic Skeleton recap pieces. Thanks!   https://allthingssnow.net/2026/01/19/pfeifer-and-wyatt-win-the-finale-meylemans-and-weston-seal-crystal-globes/

    • changes that go absolutely against the Italians (notoriously the top swimmers and not the best shooters in MP) 😭😭😭   now it's really time to axe MP from the Games 😈🥳
    • I think there was a feeling before the obstacle course was introduced that really, really solid endurance runners were starting to dominate - in Triathlon you might call it the Alex Yee conundrum. Personally, I don't mind at all if the 'martial' elements are reemphasised as that is the real 'soul' of the sport - Triathlon, Marathon and Road cycing are there for genuine endurace, MP is in some senses a 'soldiery' test - one reason I thought Judo might have been a better addition than the obstacle course. But placing a higher emphasis on the fight bits over the flight bits seems a legitimate idea - though it should also increase the X-country nature of the run so that the test of a fresh shooter at the beginning is rather different from the test of a knackered one at the end. I quite like the artificial hill in rio.
