I’m in a group with some of the journalists covering the games, and Lausanne2020 hasn’t given a response to an inquiry about the state of the performer. I believe she is okay, but I’ll update (and write a story on our website) when I get more info.

Looks like most of the events will be shown live on YouTube! I don’t dislike they OC, but YouTube’s platform is just better.

Thanks.  I hope this doesn't turn into a Vancouver 2010 situation where the Opening Ceremony takes a backseat to the news of someone's passing in the host city.

      There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)

      I read the Olympic qualification documents for weightlifting. A country can have the opportunity to send a maximum of 4 athletes in one gender, but the conditions are very strict.

      Yeah, they do get broadcast pretty regularly.  I remember even back in Bode Miller's day they would show the training.
