I think it's cool, we need new countries hosting these competitions.

I just hope that Paraguay, hosting the tournament, will do better than just win a gold medal at home. They'll have to improve a lot even in the sports they are decent like golf and rowing.

Vote count was 28 for Asuncion 24 for Rio,which coincidentally was the same result when Asuncion lost for the 2027 Games.

 

Brazil will start as favourites for 2035, unless a bid from North America/ Mexico throw their hat into the ring (since it has been 3 games in a row in South America)

There was interest from Winnipeg to host in 2031, but nothing became of that. Maybe the Research Triangle in the USA will try for it after he University Games. 2035 will be 20 years since a major multi-sport event in Canada, the government's policy is to fund 2 every 10 years, so clearly we have fallen behind.

Also worth noting in 2027 Asuncion proposed adding Bocce, Futsal and beach soccer to the program. Also,  would stage the surfing competitions, if I am not mistaken the first Pan American Games with a venue outside the main hosts.

Two per decade? How many are there? Olympics, CWG and Pan Ams... if you're hosting one per decade you're punching above your weight
