    • Is anyone arguing that this wasn't nepotism? xD   The fact that RFK ended up being a great AG is really one of the great happy accidents of history, but he wasn't qualified for the role and it was so egregious Congress passed a law to prevent a nomination like that from happening again.
    • Early thoughts: i will vote for one of Aleksandra Mirosław (the one and only gold in Paris), Wilfredo Leon (best player in our volleyball team in Paris), Iga Świątek (another RG win but only Bronze in the Olympics) or Natalia Bukowiecka nee Kaczmarek ( the most valuable medal in Paris for me)

    • Giorgia Meloni’s government in Italy will not be allowed to deport illegal aliens according to judges who just ruled against her decision. They cited how Egypt has a poor human rights record and therefore sending illegals from Egypt back to their home country would potentially violate their human rights so it cannot be done. Italy’s borders will remain open and the New Europeans will be allowed to flood both Italy and Europe forever more.
    • in a sport like wrestling, if you are #1 in your country and win World or Olympic medals you can make money otherwise you get nothing. that's not the case in table tennis.   being #2 in your country behind the world #1 (who happens to be from the same country) is a terrible situation. you know you are good enough to win medals but someone always blocks your way,   most of these Russian wrestlers try to win the Russian nationals and win medal for Russia (which pays much better) but when they realize they are getting old and they can't beat a certain local wrestler they move to somewhere else. that's still bad but I don't really blame them, nobody wants to end his career without a major medal.   it's not a bad idea if UWW somehow follows what IJF does. but I don't think that happens anytime soon.
