Pistol and Rifle national trials were held recently.

Both national team shooters I believe represented India and Turkey before switching to Canada. Their second scores would have placed them in the finals of their respective events.

 

Lynda Kiekjo is on the developmental team? How lol.

She didn't have a good national trials. Hopefully the cut in funding won't discourage her too much and that she'll compete in at least the Americas Championships.

Looks like the latter, he competed at the 2010 and 2014 Commonwealth Games and 2011 Pan Am Games.

On/Off performance, hopefully he can keep it up

 

On the other hand, Trysten Routledge who hit 122/125 in Lima 2019, had 121/125 at last year's nationals, had 113/125 to finish 6th! in the first half of nationals this year. Very disappointing result for him. Coincidentally, Richard McBride finishes second to Caswell this year (they paired up to win Pairs Skeet silver at Delhi 2010). Both will likely be on Canada's 2022 Continental Championships team. Highly disappointing as just two months ago, Routledge easily beat the two at the High Performance trials.

Not sure on this but former World Junior Champion in the team air rifle (9th individually) last year Rajpreet Singh of India competed at the Canadian national this year. Not sure if that implies he is switching nationalities, but if he does, instantly that would give Canada solid medal hope!

Also former Turkish shooter Ozer Tugrul is also competing for Canada.

Canada is sending a random bunch of athletes to the Shotgun worlds.

 

Lindsey Boddez, fifth at Nationals in the women's trap in qualification, bronze overall (only one going)

Vadiim Zevlever, second in qualification and fourth overall in men's trap

 

Jason Caswell is not going ... but 2/4/7 in qualification are going.

 

Also like to point out Maddy Boyd finished fifth in Skeet nationals (competed with the men), with very decent scores. She also happens to have formerly competed for GBR

They must know we have no chance at the Worlds, better to continue training and prepare for the Championship of the Americas.

 

Or maybe the cost to travel and compete is too high which led to a lot of people withdrawing.
