8) Women’s Windsurfing (IQ Foil)

:IND ( 1 entry)

Final Rank  : 88/88

** very poor/mediocre performance from the team overall apart from Vishnu in ILCA7 class. He finished a creditable 37th in a world championships where the last quota went to the 23rd ranked sailor( at one point he was in those 16 quota places).
Sailing will definitely have representation in Paris/Marseille 2024 as a minimum Vishnu should achieve qualification at the asian regatta in Dec this year.
If or not we can qualify more boats remains to be seen. But the crews needs to improve massively to have any chance.

@Prashanth @Fly_like_a_don

I don't think we are sending a team, looks strange but there are no entries still in the list.

Still a fair few months to go , but do you think Esow can qualify through rankings in Keirin (also doubling up in sprint) ?

None can qualify, the ranking gain was due to points got from Asia Cup. Women have gained significantly, will correct the latest ranking later. There would be many events across where we don't take part so our ranking would reduce.

Qualification for Sprint and Keirin is as follows
1) Top 8 countries in Team Sprint shall qualify
2) Top 7 countries in Individual Sprint not qualified via Team Sprint shall qualify
3) Top 7 countries in Individual Keirin not qualified via Team Sprint shall qualify

So as per Sep 5 rankings top 8 teams in Team Sprint are
1) Netherlands - 5205 pts
2) Australia - 5100
3) France - 4380 pts
4) Great Britain- 4095 pts
5) Japan - 3997 pts
6) China - 3937 pts
7) Germany - 3641 pts
8) Canada - 3300
India is at 16th rank with 1479 pts

Thus countries who qualify via Individual Sprint are
1) Trinidad & Tobago - 3000 pts
2) Poland - 2850
3) Malaysia - 2470
4) Israel - 2372
5) Suriname - 2185
6) Colombia - 1684
7) South Africa - 745 (Continental quota)
India has 405 pts

Thus countries who qualify via Individual Keirin are
1) Colombia - 2917 pts
2) Malaysia - 2865 pts
3) Suriname - 2430 pts
4) New Zealand - 2330 pts
5) Israel - 2192 pts
6) Trinidad & Tobago - 1964 pts
7) Thailand - 1731 pts
India has 594 pts

So its highly unlikely that India can qualify in this Olympic cycle

    • I have reported this again and they said it should be fixed now, please let me know if you are still facing issues.
    • more countries added to the list of US ban    you can't travel to USA if you are from : burkina faso , niger , Laos , South sudan , mali , sierra leon ...
    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
