Silver for our women’s team at the U23 NORCECA Pan American Cup! Won back to back 5-setters in the quarterfinals/semifinals against Dominican Republic and defending champions Cuba, but got swept by the US in the final.

Boys’ team gets their revenge on Algeria by sweeping them 3-0 to finish 23rd at the Boys U19 World Championships. Even though we finished second to last, we recorded our first ever win at this event and had some good performances against the other teams in our group!

Incredibly impressed that we’ve managed to do it witn so many of our top players out! Obviously I want more (as does the team), but no matter what happens next I’m satisfied.

Playing with house money now. Great experience for all those there, all of a sudden we will have some depth heading into 2028!

Men’s team knocks Japan out of the World Championships with a sweep, and with that we’re through to the round of 16!

To see us making the knockout rounds twice while missing a bunch of key players, oh I’m super proud of them

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.

Although the agenda has not been published yet, there shouldn’t be any major items over these two days, apart from the election of a member of the IOC Executive Board. This will be the eighth time the session is held in Italy, the last one being during the Turin 2006 Olympic Games.
