I think that is a very optimistic view.

Derek does not have any chance in Tokyo, the world cups are not really big quality competitions and winning there does not mean anything.

Srbic for sure has some potential, but first he needs to qualify which is for individual athletes not that easy. they changed the qualification procedure to favor a bit more the specialists, but still it will depend on very few competitions.

Samardzic is a swimmer

in athletics it will be more difficult to qualify than before. It seems for world ranking best 5 results (weighted by level  of competition) during 12 months. Details not known yet.

If we take into account 2017 season probably only Perkovic, Kolak and Zunic would be safe plus 3 ladies in Marathon

Does race walking have same situation as marathon? Erent could be good enough by Tokyo.

I imagine couple of other T&F athletes like Horvat, Marković, Mihaljević, Ivančević should definitely have a chance.

They all have chances, I  agree. I would add Tolj, maybe Kozul, Bloudek, Greguric, Loncarek,

The problem i see (if I understand the new ranking) will be that 5  results at e.g local competition will be less worth than identical 5 results at international meetings. Our athletes don’t compete much outside the region and probably don’t have much money to travel. Means they have a disadvantage from the beginning.

    • So is there any limit one team sport per gender this time?
    • Yes, they've gone to the athletics champs a few times. But since they don't have an NOC, they haven't yet been to the Games of the Small States of Europe in a full capacity.
    • Aquatics: Swimming: same as Paris - 23 Open Water Swimming: 2 - I expect a full team (4) but 2 athletes will also compete in swimming so I won't count them twice Diving: 0 Water Polo: 26 (guaranteed) Artistic Swimming: 0 Archery: 0 - No idea about this sport Athletics: 22 - Hungarian athetics has been improving very slowly Basketball: 3x3 - 50% chance that the W team will qualify 0-4 Basketball: - same here 0-12 Boxing: - 4 Canoe Sprint: 15 - full team Canoe Slalom: 0 Cycling  BMX Freestyle: 0-1 BMX Racing: 0-1 Mountain Bike: 1 - Vas would also compete in road, but won't count her twice Road: 1 Track: 0 Equestrian: 0-1 Fencing: 18-24 I expect 6 teams because they've been improving, but 4 teams and 2 individual athletes at worst Football: 0 Golf: 0 Gymnastics Artistic: 4 (as individual athletes) Rhythmic: 1 Trampoline: 0 Handball: 14-28 - either W basketball or M handball makes it but not both, we are not that lucky. W handball is almost guaranteed imo Hockey: 0 - most Hungarians don't even know this sport exists Judo: 4 - decline in the sport Modern Pentathlon: 4 - full squad Rowing: 1 Rugby: 0 Sailing: 2 Shooting: 8 Skateboading: 0 Sport Climbing: 0 Table Tennis: 1-2 - idk honestly Taekwondo: 6 - I expect a lot from taekwondo in LA Tennis: 1-2   Triathlon: 4 Beach Volleyball: 0 Volleyball: 0 Weightlifting: 0 Wrestling: 7 All the new sports: 0-1 (maybe 1 in squash) 167-207 athletes

    • What I think about  chances:   Football (W) - Already qualified Volleyball (W) - Impossible not to qualify Volleyball (M) - 100% Handball (W) - 95%    Basketball (M) - 55% - I think this is the team's best moment in about 15 years. So I'm more confident this time.   Rugby (W) - 65% - Argentina is really improving, but I think in a direct confrontation for the spot we would still prevail, but this could be our last Olympics until they overtake us in this sport.   Football (M) - 30% - I don't think the CBF wants to miss another Olympics. Of course, it will depend on the clubs, but it will probably be the best team available. Which should be enough to have a chance at qualifying.   Handball (M) - 50% - This should be the best time to qualify, considering that Argentina is rebuilding, but I'm not going to give this team any favoritism.   Basketball (W) - 10% - The team has two really good players, if a miracle happens... But I doubt it.   Water Polo (M) - 33% - Canada, Brazil, and Argentina are at the same level.   Water Polo (W) - 5% - Canada isn't totally invincible here, so I won't consider this team completely out of the running.   Remaining - 0%    My bets: Football (W) Volleyball (M/W) Handball (M/W) Basketball (M) Rugby (W)
