Valent and Marin Sinkovic won gold medal at World Cup in Varese in rowing.

Also, Damir Martin won gold medal in single sculls.

It seems that our competitors in rowing will be well prepared for Rio.

I guess that double sculls is our 'surest' medal at the Olympics (ahead of discus throw). But you actually can't be too sure about anything.

As expected Lavric is out in the first round. Toncica Topic wasn't bad, but not good enough.

Mia Radotić scored 3 Olympic points today. http://www.procyclingstats.com/race/Ronde_van_Gelderland_2016

Nothing to write a poem about, but maybe this could be a sign of good form for upcoming qualification races.

We will have in total 7 athletes in Kazan ECH in judo. Few surprises in my opinion:

They give a chance to Tihea Topolovec (2nd at the cadet WCH) and Brigita Matic (junior World champion). This is very positive.

There are as expected Maranic, Djakovic, Sutalo, Miskovic and Kumric. But again no Barbara Matic! I guess she is injured?

Snjezana Pejcic won gold medal in 50 metres rifle three positions in Rio de Janeiro - World Cup.

The most important thing is that she set a NEW WORLD RECORD in qualifications - 594.

Really bad weekend for us.

We might be without wrestlers in rio. One tournament left.

And in judo actually I was hoping for 3 quotas. Now it looks more like only one quota. Matic in danger to lose the fixed qualification, which would mean no Rio for Kumric. His quota is anyway in danger as minaskin won medal. He is probably still out of cont. quota :(

    • Despite total domination by the Norwegian men (and yes, it's exhausting and boring), the accomplishments this weekend of Emil Iversen and Einar Hedegart are worth highlighting, despite them being Norwegian.    Iversen was dropped by the Norwegian national team after the opener in Beitostølen 2 weeks ago and was not taken to Ruka. Instead, he won both the 10k and 20k Interval Classic starts in Gålå in the Norwegian Cup last week, which granted him a spot on the start line in Trondheim. He took full advantage of that opportunity and finished on the podium in the skiathlon, and finished just off the podium in today's 10k Interval Freestyle. This definitely puts his name in serious contention for a spot on the Olympic team, which looked incredibly doubtful just a few days ago.    Einar Hedegart, the 24-year-old biathlete who decided to challenge the stereotype that biathletes are inferior skiers to their cross-country counterparts, just won the 10k Interval Start against all of Norway's best in a de facto Olympic trial.    Yes, it's exhausting seeing nothing but Norwegian flags on the men's side, but there can be excitement just beneath the surface at times.
