Poland and are other teams are complaining that they were relegated despite their results in 2018.

ok, I have a question here; maybe it's a stupid one, but: what happens to the teams who won there t7ies in the 2-nd Euro-African group: we had Romania-Zimbabwe anmd Morocco-Lithuania this weekend, others are in September. What happens to the winners? The official site-quoted also by wikipedia, is ambiguous. Will they play anybody again this year?

The winners get promoted, the losers get relegated.

"Following an in-depth security review of the current situation in Pakistan by independent expert security advisors, the Davis Cup Committee has taken the decision to postpone the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group I tie between Pakistan and India in Islamabad, due to be played on 14-15 September.

"The Committee concluded that this is an exceptional circumstance while the first priority of the ITF is the safety and security of athletes, officials and spectators.

"The tie has been rescheduled for November, with the exact dates to be confirmed by the Committee no later than 9 September. The ITF will continue to monitor the situation in Pakistan and the Davis Cup Committee will re-convene to re-examine the security situation in advance of the tie."

What's up with Davis Cup tennis suddenly starting today, on a Monday?

Did too many people visit the matches and so they're going to have it on weekdays now or what?

    • It's hard to believe it was still in this calendar year
    • In last year, we were were happy with Brignone's wins, and today we're excite that della Mea is in the top 10... It's hard to imagine a bigger fall... And Goggia should give up on the giant slalom and focus on the speed events – Vonn isn't wasting time on the giant slalom, but is training for downhill and SG. Goggia last one finished on the podium in the giant slalom in march 2018, and she has no any chance of winning an Olympic medal at the regular competition. It's a waste of time and energy to finish 8th or 9th and risk injury. And we have to accept that without Brignone, we have no chance of winning a medal in the giant slalom in Cortina, and that's it.
    • yeah, just like Anna Trocker earlier Today   I think this is the best way to blow them    they're not ready for the world cup stage yet, but we're so bad right now that our coaches are digging deep
    • Some surprises and fun results so far at this year's Worlds. Like a few minutes ago, when  Harrysson made the 1/8 with another very good performance. Now he plays Jonny Clayton, who this afternoon made a stellar performance in a tough battle with Zonneveld. I don't see an easy match for Clayton, even though on paper he would have wished such an opponent for a 1/8 before the tournament.   Also i'm delighted that my fav Gary Anderson seems to be in good form, though at his age, he is prone to sudden bad matches at any time.
    • I will just say that I'd like to live to see a time when we have someone like Stolz- a phenomenon who can win you 3 or 4 gold medals. A guy who, you know, if he goes at 100%, no one else will beat him. That's what happened to France with Marchand in swimming in 2024.
