Random news for the day that touches Biathlon.  It appears that there is a very odd bidder for the 2029 Asian Winter Games.  It is ... Saudia Arabia!  The games would include biathlon, hence why I included it here.

If you have money, you can have snow.  There actually is a quite rocky mountainous area of Saudi Arabia, There was a pro bike race earlier this year.

The area they are trying to develop into a ski resort area is up in the Northwest of the country.  If Lebanon can have a ski resort, so could Saudi Arabia.

Isn't the Tour of Saudi Arabia quite a well-known thing in cycling already? Or am I confusing it with all those other oil states that want to use sports so other people don't look too much at what else they do? :p

Curious if that will also lead to a bunch of FIS cross-country races like in Lebanon eventually, where other countries sort of decide what happens in terms of results (to get good FIS points), in return for helping Lebanon with having their own athletes score some easy FIS points.
