Bad news! NZL rejects the women's cross-country quota.

Meaning that Netherlands now gets the quota (or probably not), after that we have Austria.

 

Btw, South Africa won't even be send a woman to the World Championships this year in mountain bike, because nobody met the criteria. Chances for someone to get selected for Olympics despite everything should be like zero.

Netherlands in 2012 refused quota for that girl, it would be cruel to do it once again

That's right, but it's very unlikely though. In 2012 they qualified on merit and still didn't get selected. Quite unlikely that they will accept a reallocation now.

 

And, as heywoodu said before, all Dutch athletes are aware about what they have to do to get selected. So every Dutch female mountain bike athlete knows there's no chance to get selected after they failed to qualify.

it's still unfair because she doesn't have other 2 enough strong riders to help her

I'm so happy to announce that UCI has updated the qualification list.

 

Netherlands declined one of the male quotas, Sweden declined it's men's quota while New Zealand and South Africa declined the women's quota...

 

Quotas went to Great Britain in men's (next best nation) and Namibia in women's (next best from Africa). The other two quotas went to tripartite commission which awarded quotas to Lesotho (men's) and Timor-Leste (women's).
