Women's Basketball FIBA European Championship 2023

Christ almighty, :HUN is in the Quater-finals.

Congrats to our girls, but Serbia (or the refs) kinda beat themselves by losing three important players due to faults.

Bad news for all of :GBR  :SRB and :BEL, they will have to fight for the same Top4 spot.

We will probably play against :CZE or :GRE in the QF. Huge opportunity for them and for us to reach the semi-finals.

@Makedonas I am guessing it's not that important for you now to win against :ESP. You would literally get an easier road to the Top4 by losing that match. :CZE and then :HUN if you lose against Spain, :ITA and then :FRA if you win against Spain. This seems like an easy choice.

Well, that's no OQT for us then. No way are we beating Serbia.

If Turkey beat Slovakia and end up with a better points difference then Hungary, how come they still finish 3rd and Hungary 1st?

Yes, I was thinking the same thing, but first we need the Czechs to beat Israel.

I think it goes by points difference between the three teams that are tied, so it won't make a difference if Turkey beat Slovakia by 1 point or 30 points.

5 or 6 nations for the TQO ?

6. And we can exclude France. So if you get QF, there is big chance to qualify

This game is too close, I really hope we lose

I would much rather face the Czech Republic than Italy, especially since we lost by 53 (!!!) points to Italy in a preparation game a few weeks ago...

    • By the way. It looks like no AIN`s will be in biathlon by the start of the Olympics. Russians filed an appeal to CAS to get AIN statuses in biathlon. But IBU did not agree to have hearings with short procedure. So the decisons are not expected before the end of qulifying period. (FIS could do the same but its top-officials prefer to help russians be back as quick as possible).   I would like to see Dolidovich at the Games. Because she is a real refugee of the relatively high level.

    • It’s honestly baffling how bad she was in 2018. Just absolutely lost her head. Real shame too because she is so gifted. I do hope Li Jianrou sends her a Christmas card every year tho, she was absolutely gifted a gold medal by Christie in 2014.
