@Agger you said jn London you were on the last minute, as I remember corrextly. Any advices? People will sell this tickets later? In the nearly same prices you bought there?

Nah. Think I got 6 or 7 tickets through the first draw. Then I won one ticket, got one or two during later stages in the central ticketing and one or two through the national reselling. The only last-minute ticket was for the men's handball final. Was quite a surprise to get that one.

Thanks. Maybe I will buy sth later.

It's still very early. We're not even a week into the first round. You'll get your chance.

Looks like it won't be that hard to make a first package, but second may need some creativity for me!

Hopefully non-French speakers can translate this (I was able to)- seems like cheap tickets are going fast

Yes, i can.

A lot of tickets at 24€ was bought really fast. For handball, the cheapest place is at 140€. However, Handball is a great sport in France, it's not a surprise that a lot of people buy ticket for this event. For Athletics, on the morning, the cheapest place is at 90€. Some events are book, Fencing, Triathlon, Breaking and Climb (Sports where French are good).

According to the office director of Paris 2024, they will be no tickets at 24€ until the end of the 1st phase on Mid-March. Some tickets at 24€ will be available on the 2nd phase on May for each sports. Some French who are draw refuse to take tickets because it was too expensive and prefer to watch the olympics on TV.

It is great, I was not thinking people will buy some session so quickly. For example expensive athletics without any medal finał, team sport like voleyball and handball (2 marchew, and you could have 2 week team like from Africa)

@phelpsI am really thinking now about going to Mediolan, but unfortunately we have only short track there.

great!

but I'd wait until news on the situation of the secondary ice arena and the speedskating track makes it clear on what's gonna happen here.

in any case, Opening Ceremony, Short Track, Figure Skating and Hockey are already sure to be held here.

the only sport still in the bubble is speedskating, as I wrote.

I think there won't be any official statement soon, gotta wait until the end of the year, I fear.

    • How wonderful!   I met the national rowing (and beach rowing) coach of EST/LTU/LAT on the way to ice hockey one day, who's Canadian by the way. I also flew home on the same flight as JC Schoonmaker's mom and friends, so we chatted for a bit.
    • Yea I only used transit besides this Uber / bus to the airport and back. All the venues were at the end of the line, so it allowed you to speak with other fans/volunteers etc. I even met Corrine Stoddard's mom after the first session of short track on the way back, and told her to remember our conversation if she won a medal later in the Olympics. We know how that ended up...
    • I used public transit the entire time I was in Milan.   My first day was a doozy, because I had to two flights to reach Malpensa, and then the train into town was delayed, and then I got confused a station and boarded a tram instead of the metro, proceeded to travel in the wrong direction, got off, walked back to the station, found the metro, got off a station early, walked around a kilometer to my hotel, and checked in.   My colleagues mostly took cabs upon arrival, but I deduced to take the frugal approach. That said, I was a true public transit professional by the time I left Milan.   I actually enjoyed my rides to and from venues, because I'd just chat up fans and volunteers from different countries. It helped me learn more about the city too.
    • It's the olympics, sleep is for the weak!    The first day i got there i was on a 12 hour flight from l.a to rome (flight that left mid day), lay over, another flight to milan, uber to hotel, then right away to speed skating (1500m men), then after uber to hockey venue for women's gold final, then after the celebrations uber to the hotel, i ended up being awake about 36 hours that day, the next morning i thought to go sightseeing in the center of milan, but ended up sleeping until like 2pm..... and had speed skating/short track that night
    • I tried to get onto the metro multiple times and gave up    I had just arrived the day of from Bangkok (12 hr flight) and was just exhausted and wanted to sleep
    • Plus, you missed out on a potential metro ride with me, which is quite priceless in my opinion
    • My hotel was very close to Rho so was easy to get there, but it was so far from the hockey venue that after the women's gold medal match it was so expensive to get back, and also the next day after the usa slovakia semis it took forever, the asshole driver took the city and not the freeway
    • Uber cost me $224 CAD to get back to the hotel from the OC. It basically prevented me from buying tickets to a speed skating session
    • Romania's national team coach, Mircea Lucescu, has died half an hour ago He was in hospital since March 30th, just before the friendly match against Slovakia. Unbelievable how the life can have such turns...in March 26th he was in Istanbul playing the WC qualifying play-off vs Turkiye and now he died.    Thank you very much for every moments you bring us in your huge career (he's on 3rd place in a most trophies won in career, after Ferguson and Guardiola) and may your soul rest in peace, Mr. Lucescu.
