Would somebody be able to take over the recaps for Aussie trials? I'm not going to be able to watch live anymore.

:AUS Australian Olympic Trials: Day 3

Women's 200m Freestyle (SAQT: 1:56.49, OQT: 1:57.26):

1. Ariarne Titmus - 1:52.23 Q WR :yikes:

2. Mollie O'Callaghan - 1:52.48 :yikes:

3. Lani Pallister - 1:55.57 Q

4. Brianna Throssell - 1:55.74 Q

=5. Shayna Jack - 1:56.22 Q

=5. Jamie Perkins - 1:56.22 Q

7. Brittany Castelluzzo - 1:56.77 q

8. Meg Harris - 1:56.93 q

Top two both under Mollie's old world record set in Fukuoka last year. Top 8 all under OQT. They will definitely take top six.

Men's 800m Freestyle (SAQT: 7:45.80, OQT: 7:51.65)

1. Elijah Winnington - 7:44.90 Q

2. Sam Short - 7:46.52 q

3. Matthew Galea - 7:53.99

Short will still get to race this despite missing the SAQT because he's already on the team.

Men's 50m Freestyle (SAQT: 21.88, OQT: 21.96)

1. Cam McEvoy - 21.35 Q

2. Ben Armbruster - 21.84 Q

3. Isaac Cooper - 21.97

Men's 200m Butterfly (SAQT: 1:54.97, OQT: 1:55.78)

1. Bowen Gough - 1:56.18

2. Harrison Turner - 1:57.07

3. Ruan Van Der Riet - 1:59.21

Very tough SAQT but no one was even able to get under the OQT in what is probably the weakest event for Australia.

Remember when Australia had their trials in March & April and by the time the OG came, their form had mostly passed. The Australians surely don't want to :d

It's weird. It was working fine on Monday. Then it was really slow and laggy yesterday and just couldn't connect at all today.

But it's all good. Thankfully 9now uploaded the condensed sessions on YouTube so I don't have to sacrifice any sleep and can watch on the way to work instead!

    • the quata for europe or australia is from the primer 12, where the top 20 teams will participate, sadly  is the 21th team so the only slight chance for us in my opinion is if: we get top 2 at the european championship (not including  hopefully if they get the quata), then somehow win the final qualification tournament against i assume  and one of    the chances for us are slim, i think about 4 other team sports  have a better chance in in my opinion(and the most team sports we ever had was one, and it was the last two time after a long time )

    • well, Cuba and Venezuela for sure...   Iran is a different question, but I hope in 2 years all this war shit is done and dusted and at least in the sports world everything is gonna be OK
    • In my opinion the Italian team has been playing above expectations since last year after several years of decline. Last year, we advanced to the first division at the European Championships and now they're playing very close matches against the strong India and Scotland. We a little miss a potential to do more – we are only 18th in the world rankings. Our men's team's performance in this sport is much weaker.
    • I wonder if all Cuba, Iran and Venezuela will be able to travel and compete in LA at all... Hopefully that yes.
    • There was some initial disappointment at first, but got over it quite quickly.    Happy for  and I hope they can win a medal in LA with their MLB players there!
