  1. Speaking about Goal Songs. Maybe time to introduce them here as well So here are the Goal songs of 2021 Worlds, which one do you like the most ? for me apart Slovakia obviously it is Group A and Group B

  3. First point of the tournament for . Overtime starting right now
  4. Yes. Each team had possibility to select 3 songs, the organizers will randomly time by time play during breaks in their respective matches and obviously also during the pre-game practice. Plus each team traditionally picked a song they use as Goal song, part of the song is played after every goal the team score. Here is the goal song we had the chance to listen 5 times during this championship (well technically 6 times but one goal was disallowed in the match against after video review)

  7. IIHF Statement The IIHF does not agree with the actions taken yesterday by the Mayor of Riga and the Latvian Foreign Minister to use the flag of a participating country in the 2021 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship for a political message. The actions of the Belarus government are separate from the players who are competing under the Belarus flag at this tournament. The players have been welcomed to Latvia as guests and should not have to see their flag removed without their consent from the public display of the 16 participating countries. This is in direct contradiction to the host country slogan “Passion. No Borders.” Therefore, the IIHF has asked the Mayor of Riga to urgently take down the IIHF flag from the same area, as well as the World Championship flag which bears the IIHF name. In accordance with the IIHF Statutes, we are an apolitical sports organization, and are demanding that the IIHF is removed from any association with the political statements the Mayor and Foreign Minister have made by changing the flag of our Member. The IIHF will retain the Belarus flag in all World Championship venues for the duration of the tournament, and hopes that the mayor’s office of Riga will reconsider its decision to remove the Belarus flag from the group of participating nations being displayed in Riga.
  8. Well, what else do Czechs and Slovaks do when they meet ? nothing, sit down to a couple of beers and start neverending talk about hockey
  9. Comparing and hockey depth is a bit unreasonable, to not say absurd the least we love this sport like religion, but you guys are still miles ahead of us in every sense, from money to amount of registered players. That is why I am still speaking & dreaming about Czechoslovak hockey team (I can immediately name a roster that may fight for gold with 75% CZE + 25% SVK players in)
  10. Yeah, the display yesterday against Russians was awesome, enormous team effort and team spirit, was really nice to watch, this was for me even more pleasant than the win itself. Anyway, I repeat, the roster is composed of young kids, still only learning how it works on major international level. we have here only 1 NHLer and it is a kid who played exactly 8 games this season for New Jersey at the end of the season 3 U18 players, any other team would not even imagine to send a team like this to a WCh, so we better enjoy how the youngs are playing for their nation and learn enormous experiences for the future (mainly aiming Cortina 2026). As I already said, the team had no goal for this tournament, the QF would be considered as satisfying but it was not the goal. The schema and strategy for this tourney for us is totally different. and do not remember we are the same team who 2 days ago could not score more than 2 goals to the GB monster in the net. Hard to believe GB will not concede more than 5 goals per match in the remaining games every game is different. Yesterday was fantastic to watch, but let stay on earth, it was just one game, next is , a real contender for medals with NHL superstars, another huge portion of experience for our kids.
  11. oh-hoo, let´s slow down and brake a bit We are definitely not a medal contender at all and certainly not after played only 3 games This team never was a medal contender and can hardly be considered for it. We have the youngest team ever here, half of the team is experiencing their first world championship. Since there no relegation, we tried another strategy this year, This is a bunch of young but very talented kids we send there only and only to learn and gain experiences of international major hockey before Cortina 2026 where they will have to shine and demonstrate what they have learned.
  12. yeah, right, missing a couple of athletes in delegations of 100+ athletes must be really a nightmare... I can really feel your pain

  19. Guys, it is not over yet at all, the tournament is long every team play 7 games, any team can still qualify for the QF and everyone can still miss the play-off we are still at the start, all are full of forces, wait the second half of the competition, weaker teams will lose more and more strength by time. I still expect the usual suspects to move into the QF at the end
