  1. Snowboarding & Freestyle Skiing Slopestyle course revealed. The Chinese wall
  2. but do you know what happened to Jake Chelios ? He is not anymore in the list, even if he was basically assured to be there. Injury ? Covid ? or did he decided to retire from the team ? Can not find any info. This may hurt your team a lot since he was clearly the top name of the team

  4. First 5 Athletes have just departed to Beijing. Klaudia Medlová (Snowboarding) and 4 of the five members Luge Team (the young Marián Skupek will fly in the next days) Good Luck, enjoy your stay and stay healthy guys ! Klaudia Medlová will be just like in PyeongChang 2018 again our sole Snowboarder also in Beijing and will compete just like 4 years ago in Slopestyle and Big Air competitions. 4 of the 5 SVK Luge members team before their departure to the Olympics: from Left second coach Rastislav Drajna, Tomáš Vaverčák (Doubles & Relay), our Luge team head coach, former Olympian Lukáš Brož, Katarína Šimoňáková (W Singles & Relay), Jozef Ninis (M Singles & Relay) and Matej Zmij (Doubles & Relay) Beijing will be the 5th Olympics in a row for Ninis, 2nd for Šimoňáková after PC 2018 and the Olympic debut for the duet Vaverčák/Zmij
  5. A couple of our players had, according to very-brief informations from our federation, positive tests in the previous week...even in a hockey crazy country like the one I live in, it is absolutely impossible to find out which one...it looks like some national secret... need some James Bond help here to find more info The only we know, is it is not from players from CZE and SVK leagues (because they are still playing, CZE league has even a full match round schedulled the 2nd February and their clubs refuse to release players before...despite our and Latvian federation daily neverending demands and appeals lol) and it is not Marek Hrivík neither since the guy was Monday at the Presidential Palace making the Pre-Olympic oath... so by deductions a la Miss Marple, the positive one(s) should be player(s) from KHL and I can bet that it must be the 2 guys from Dinamo Minsk (Libor Hudáček & Patrik Rybár) since D. Minsk revealed a week ago they had 12 positive cases before their last KHL match... However if especially those two would not be allowed to go to Beijing...this would be a disaster, losing any name from KHL is already a huge problem for us, but the 2 named guys would be even worse Anyway our federation just briefly stated (Once again it was last weekend), they hope the positive one will have enough negative tests at time to be able to fly to China and if not we will have to call for player(s) from the reserve squad
  6. I highly doubt we will accept it if it happen. It is already too late. In normal Olympics yes, but certainly not under current circumstances
  7. Wukesong Arena National Indoor Stadium
  8. After Ty Schultz renamed to Zheng Enlai, Apparently another 5 players from the roster were given new Chinese names in the last days as well Brandon Yip will be during the Olympics named Ye Jinguang Parker Foo - Fu Shuai Zach Yuen - Yuen Junjie Jason Fram - Liu Jie Paris O'Brien - Auban Wynn
  9. Unlikely I guess in the full big names start list. But, yeah in a great day with her famous excellent quick shooting from the past seasons in a contact event like pursuit or mass start she may be definitely a contender
  10. Stage 26 in Schladming (AUT) Men´s Slalom: 1. Linus Strasser 1:46.00 2. Atle Lie McGrath 1:46.03 3. Manuel Feller 1:46.39 Full Final Results HERE
  11. apart Lee Sang-Ho in Mens snowboarding PGS and probably a couple of obligatory Short Track medals (however this time I slightly expect more from the host Chinese athletes) can hardly aspire for another medal(s), maybe Speed Skating, but I do not know how realistic it can be has some chances across many sports from Kobayashi/Takanashi Ski Jumping to Watabe Nordic Combined distant chance, passing by their biggest chances in Snowboarding/Freestyle Skiing + Speed Skating surely is another sport with medal options I do believe, correct me if I am wrong So without doubts. Japan
  12. A bit disappointing at the end must admit, considering the 1st round, but yeah, another podium in GS, so still fantastic result. The most important was for Petra to feel that she is able to compete against the best also in Giant Slalom. She spend the whole last week to train GS with the only goal to get that confidence in GS. Now she confirmed to our TV that she will return to training Slalom in another Italian resort and then her whole team will (hopefully healthy) fly to Beijing the January 31st. hard to even explain the pressure the girl have to handle from the whole country. I really hope she will achieve what she want and will return from Beijing happy and satisfied If you tune on the TV in Slovakia, you can be sure you will see her, in advertisements, several TV shots, news, just everywhere the whole day... Just the fact that her races have more TV viewers than hockey games already speak by itself about her popularity in the country
  13. Stage 25 in Kronplatz (ITA) Women´s Giant Slalom: 1. Sara Hector 2:03.63 2. Petra Vlhova 2:03.78 3. Tessa Worley 2:04.15 Full Final Results HERE Petra Vlhová 54th careers WC Podium, 18th Silver (25-18-11), Season 2021/22 WC 10th Podium, 4th Silver (5-4-1) 12th Careers WC Giant Slalom Podium, 3rd Silver (5-3-4), Season 2021/22 WC Giant Slalom 3rd Podium, 3rd Silver (0-2-1)
  14. and just was released the new info. It is 6 players (5 skaters + 1 Goaltender) However not all teams will use it, for example the Czechs will send only 3 apparently the Russians alread nominated 5 Our team is already consulting the situation between the team staff and will decide in the next hours/day(s), but, certainly it would be really stupid to not use it
  15. 7 to the first action (9 to the opening ceremony)
  16. Ledecká ? Yes, but the one in Cortina was harder. I saw it on Czech TV, it was a very very bad crash.
  17. Breezy Johnson as expected out of the Olympics due injury, crash in Cortina in the last DH training was at the end too costly for the biggest US speed events chance in Beijing
