  3. From 3rd to 11th December Riga will host the 11th Men´s Floorball World Championships. http://iffwfc.org/#undefined All matches will be available free on their youtube channels. Team SVK goal is to advance for the QF, it will be very hard this time, we are in group C with and only top 2 teams advance into the play-off against last 2 teams of Group B. the reigning champions and absolute favorites for the title again. 8 times world champions and 2 times silver medalists (in 10 editions ) won last worlds at home in Goteborg 2014. Winning the Gold medal match 3-2 against their eternal rivals
  4. well, Eurosport is also a good option for the winter sports However I am already looking forward, In SVK we have the opposite problem the summer games are very weird in our TV, incompetant commentators, weird scheduling focused only in few popular sports, other sports have just few minutes highlights per day some not at all...so I have to follow czech TV..but for the winter games it´s better, our TV broadcasted everything from last few winter games, especially the Vancouver olympics coverage was fantastic one channel purely for Ice hockey and the second one 24h/day from all other events. Hope this time they will do the same
  5. Barry Trotz the coach of the Washington Capitals has a very strong pain threshold he looks like he didn´t even noticed that he got the puck in his head
  6. Mikaela Shiffrin wins home slalom at Killington American technical ace Mikaela Shiffrin held off second run attacks by tour veteran Veronika Velez Zuzulova of Slovakia and Swiss Wendy Holdener to claim victory in the Killington World Cup slalom in front of her home crowd. In her 22nd career World Cup win, Shiffrin built on her morning lead to create a 0.73 second margin of victory. Shiffrin, whose hometown is Vail, Colo., graduated from high school in the state of Vermont approximately two hours from Killington. "I put a lot of pressure on myself,” Shiffrin said. “Knowing that I’ve been performing so well in slalom, I really had a great chance of winning the slalom here. And I actually really wanted to win the GS as well, but I didn’t put winning GS skiing out there.” Large crowds were entertained at the Eastern U.S. resort by the local favorite. “It’s amazing. It was like 16,000 yesterday and I don’t how many there are today, but it’s full and that’s so cool," Shiffrin said. The rest of the podium had positive things to say about both the venue and the future of ladies' slalom skiing this season. “It was a really nice race,” Velez Zuzulova said. “Usually we are racing in Aspen and I can say that the crowd is never like this, so it was a really nice experience to race here.” “I think we get a step closer than last year,” Holdener said of the winning leads Shiffrin has become known for in slalom. “Still she [Shiffrin] is dominant and I think the other girls and I are on the right way to get closer and closer. I think it will get thrilling this season.” Full Results and Cup Standings Here Mikaela Shiffrin 2nd run Veronika Velez Zuzulová 2nd run

  12. Johannes Rydzek does it again in Ruka Second win in the second competition of the Ruka weekend for Johannes Rydzek. The overall World Cup leader scored his second 100 points by finishing 14.7 seconds ahead of Austrian veteran Willi Denifl. Akito Watabe captured rank three in a finish sprint fight against Austria’s Mario Seidl. Jarl Magnus Riiber was back to competing today after having to take a rest day due to sickness yesterday and he had a good comeback on the jumping hill. even though he still struggled with the rhythm of his jump, he still managed to land at 133.5 metres. This distance was matched by runner-up Akito Watabe but Riiber totalled at 139.4 points which put him 8 seconds ahead of Watabe (137.5 points). Austrian veteran Willi Denifl had a great jump that conquered the third intermediate position for him (132 m; 135 p.) and put him 18 seconds behind Riiber at the start of the cross-country race. Yesterday’s winner Johannes Rydzek was in a promising position again, jumping 126.5 metres (123.4 p.) which gave him one minute and four seconds to catch up, a doable feat for strong skier Rydzek, especially with the confidence boost from his seventh World Cup victory the day before. The audience was delighted with the performances of local heroes Eero Hirvonen and Ilkka Herola who claimed the intermediate positions six and seven with +1:31 and +1:38 respectively. Björn Kircheisen showed solid jumping again and held rank 10 with one minute and 43 seconds as his task for the race. Full Results and standings Here

  14. Niskanen thrills home crowd with Ruka win Finland's Iivo Niskanen has recorded his second career World Cup victory on the same trails he won his first World Cup two seasons ago. Niskanen completed the 15 km classic course in a time of 35:27.6, which was good enough for a winning margin of 10.2 seconds ahead of Norway's Emil Iversen. In third, also from Norway was Martin Johnsrud Sundby +11.2 seconds behind. With his third place result today, Sundby joins Axel Teichmann and Lukas Bauer as the only athletes with three podium finishes in this event in Ruka. It was a tight day of racing with just 33 seconds separating the top 10 athletes, who represented 5 different countries. Emil Iversen (NOR), Iivo Niskanen (FIN), Martin Johnsrud Sundby (NOR) Full Results and Cup Standings Here
  15. what a day for Parmakoski 2nd Niskanen winning. looks like Norway will have strong opponents this season
  16. Also Peter Mlynár is going very well. around 1 minute behind Niskanen after 10km is very very good for him
  17. Killingtons womens slalom Start list lol our typical draw luck if you have BIB options from 1 to 7 be sure all slovaks will get 6 and 7 Mikaela Shiffrin with bib 1 I think everything is already clear for the win but 57 athletes is a really small number for a world cup slalom
  18. Norway's Marit Bjorgen is back Marit Bjorgen of Norway may have missed all of last season's World Cup with the birth of her first child but she clearly did not forget how to win. In just her second competition of this new FIS Cross-Country season she was back again on top of the World Cup podium in the ladies' 10 km classic interval start competition. Close behind her was Finland's Krista Parmakoski +4.6 second back and in third for the second day in a row was Heidi Weng of Norway +12.7 seconds off the lead. Results Here
