  1. I was trying to phrase this how I wanted it to sound, but I couldn’t figure out a good way to ask it, so I’m just gonna throw it out there: Would I technically be allowed to represent an “American” NOC (I.e Guam, USVI, Marshall Islands) since I technically have citizenship to them? I was wondering because I found a song I like from one of them, but I wasn’t sure how to go about the nomination process. I know we have a storage of entries this year, so I felt inclined to inquire about this. I would like to know what the TISC organizers and officials think. If I were allowed to switch, I would do so permanently if needed.
  2. I’ve noticed that a lot of countries are having trouble picking music, and I’ve come to the conclusion that last year was not a good year in music. Which may explain what people aren’t as hyped up for the TISC.
  3. Which is all possible on the new FISU TV by the way
  4. For once an organization made it easy to watch their games . I enjoyed 2017 as well, though the lack of replays was annoying.
  5. The Olympic Channel will also offer around 100 hours of live coverage from the games. The FISU will also livestream the opening and closing ceremonies on Facebook and YouTube. As stated before FISU TV will offer all events, live and replayed, during and after the games. The FISU will also offer live-streams on Livestream. The Russian video network VK (I think) will apparently be the only video platform offering live coverage of Ice Hockey Preliminaries.
  6. Just wanted to drop in and give a quick shoutout to my man Irineu Esteve Altimiras of Andorra who’s having a great World Championships for someone not from a powerhouse country.
  7. For those of you who can remember the dark days of watching the Universaides on FISU TV, and for those who never did: I really recommend giving the new FISU TV a try. Link: http://www.fisu.tv/ The platform has been completely revamped and improved. It has all video coverage of the games and replays from the last summer Universaide. It also has it’s own forums section (where I’ve already been active if you give it a look). The platform looks fresh and you can tell they put effort into it.
  8. Still no official entry lists available, but there are increased entries in Snowboard and Freestyle Skiing (though most of the increase is all Russia who sent big teams). Also, FISU TV is back!! And you can even view replays on it now!!!
  9. @Griff88 Who knows a Winter Olympics may be in your countries future?
  10. I mean these awards are subjective, movies are subjective, Art is subjective. If you find a piece of art you love that’s all that matters in the end. I think movies, books, TV, and even radio programs can teach society good lessons; and I’m not just saying that because I watched Won’t You Be My Neighbor? last week. I enjoyed the majority of the nominated films. I like that they have political messages, but that’s my opinion.
  11. But that’s what makes it a great film. It shows how nothing has changed in 50 years. It’s a good political movie and a good funny comedy. I think it’s good to reward that.
  12. I’m sorry but the Semenya case is bullshit. In fact it should qualify as a human rights abuse (much like preventing trans athletes (who have taken the correct course to change thier gender) from competing). I’m pretty sure situation would be different is Semenya was from the US, Canada, Russia, Germany, Norway, Italy, Spain, Japan, etc. If CAS can’t stop dopping the least they can do is prevent the IAAF from ruinning sports for all of us.
  13. Well considering that many countries many be forcing athletes to self-fund the field still seems pretty competitive, or at least as competitive as the last Universaide.
  14. Apparently Spike Lee went off after Green Book won Best Picture, caused a real scene off-camera. Poor form
  15. Big upsets as Roma loses best picture and Close loses best actress. I’m really sad that BlackkKlansman didn’t do well. Happy for Bao too. Really wanted Dentainment to win and cause controversy, but...oh well. I’m really curious to see Capernaum now too (even though it didn’t win).
  16. Yeah the games seem to be drawing some good athletes this year. I can’t wait to watch them.
  17. Man! Nike’s advertising campaigns have been on point lately. This is great. Just as good as the sacrifice everything campaign. Plus, it really triggers a part of the country I hate, so bonus points.
  18. Where did you get this information? I can’t find it
