  5. As far as I know, there haven't been any significant chnages to the classifications for the last few editions. I'm not really sure what you mean by this?
  6. Not all disability is visible. An American swimmer had to unpack her entire disability and put with up with insults online after her disability was questioned this earlier week. Her comments on the matter were heartbreaking becuase she should have been celebrating a medal, but instead she had to defend the act of simply competing
  7. For those still looking for something to watch tomorrow morning, there will be a rare v. bout in taekwondo.

  10. joins on the list of nations with a medal at the Paralympic Games, but not at the Olympic Games (assuming my research is correct). Ask and you shall receive @heywoodu and @intoronto Edit: was left off the list, since they don't keep as a sperate team at the Olympics.

  12. Marie Antoinnette Dassi will also attmept to become the first athlete from Cameroon to win a medal at the Paralympic Games. Medal matches getting underway now.
  13. Goverdhan will compete for a bronze medal in the women's K44 -57kg weight class in taekwando. No Nepalese athlete has ever won a medal at the Paralympic Games.
  14. Melissa Tapper is also competing at the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games this year in table tennis. Natalia Partyka did that double in the past. Zehra Nemati did the archery double at Rio 2016.
  15. Tirsek wins only the fifth gold medal in his NPC's history at the Paralympic Games
  16. having an evening to remember in track cycling.
  17. Khudadadi becomes the first refugee to win a medal at the Paralympic Games
  18. I think those are both extremes. I wouldn't really think of disability is an indicator of "health" either, since it can be genetic, illness-related, the result of an accident, etc. Around 15% of the global population is likely disabled, so nations with smaller populations may have a more limited pool of potential athletes. Of course, not every disabled person will want to be athlete either, some will prefer science, arts, politics, etc, so I'd imagine that impacts delegation sizes as well. I think there's also a funding and accessibility element to representation as well, so it's a complex topic.
  19. Chen responds with a WR of her own to take the gold medal
  20. Just for reference, Para track cycling is governed by the UCI as well, so they've just brought the sport in-line with able-bodies track cycling in that case.
  21. Rahimi heading for the final later tonight @MHSN
  22. Swimming events have been very entertaining so far, it must be said.
  23. What a race in the women's S2 100m backstroke! Milimetres in that one, surely?
