  3. Unless some streaming becomes available tomorrow, it looks like this will be the second time in a row where there's more reliable coverage of the Pacific Games than the African Games
  4. Wild start to the Iditarod sleddog race this year. A moose was allegedly punched, and one was definitely shot, killed, and gutted. Unfortunately, the musher who had to kill the moose was assessed a time penalty because race organizers deemed he didn’t gut it correctly. 10. Yes, that is what a lot of them say. Some bar associations put out assessments of the candidate's credentials, so I may take those into account. Some judges will also explain their ideas when it comes to sentencing (ie. correctional support v. long sentences), while other's provide long personal bios about their attachments/service to the community for people to consider.
  11. Koeck won the women's alpine combined by +6.35 seconds
  12. I haven't seen any info about that yet, but we're still a few days out from the rest of the sports beginning.
  13. I believe they were at one point, but they campaign unaffiliated now. I generally go to their campaign websites and view their platforms/qualifications and endorsements.
  14. We've elected/voted-to-confirm judges since statehood (according to info I found on the matter), so it's how our government was set up from the beginning in California. The process has changed over time, but it's a core aspect of our democratic system. Some judges we elect through vote, while other judges are proposed by the Governor and then comfirmed or not confirmed through a vote. As I've said before, voters have a lot of power in California. We can recall (force a vote on whether or not to remove an elected official from office) any elected state officials, including judges (though we've never recalled a judge). Citizen-groups can gather signatures and propose amendments to the State Constitution without ever involving elected representatives. They can also gather signatures to force referendums on legislation passed by elected officials.
  15. Cast my votes for TISC, and then cast my votes in the primary round of elections in California Pretty slim ballot by our standards this time around. I only had to vote on 17 positions (mostly judges) and 1 proposition.
  16. with a -30 goal difference after three matches in women's futsal
  17. Also, what's with table tennis being held so early on the schedule? Is there a conflict, or just weird scheduling?
  18. How were they even allowed to enter five athletes?
  19. Already in my top three Eurotrash with a vague poltical message? Please take some votes
  20. The winds were really bad. Like, you probably shouldn't shoot a gun in these kind of gusts bad. Maybe Soldier Hollow was more protected or less affected? I don't know enough about the weather dynamics there.
