  1. They will also be in St. Moritz In about 4 weeks time . Great experience for those girls though. I’d be nice to see a full time women’s doubles team on the World Cup (even if they knew they’d never win)
  2. A national emergency.
  3. Alpine Skiing Men’s Downhill 1. Giacomo Pierbon 1:09.26 2. Pavel Kazakov 1:10.07 3. Lukas Kaefer 1:11.48
  4. Alpine Skiing Women’s Downhill 1. Elena Yakovishna 1:10.89 2. Tereza Kmochova 1:12.61 3. Rea Hraski 1:14.43
  5. I officially want to visit Uzbekistan now:
  6. 2020 World Champs...that one day must have the entire competition otherwise this event is clearly the 2019 World Championship.
  7. 2019 FAI Drone Racing World Championships - First Rounds:
  8. Now I know it was surely a dream because you were watching the Olympics on the Olympic Channel (and willingly I might add ). Are you sure you weren’t dreaming about a YOG?
  9. The problem lies more with the IOA. They’ve failed to invest in winter sports really. Every federation is being kept alive by grassroots organization. There’s nothing wrong with that it just limits the possibilities. Information about the 2020YOG was very accessible. Every qualification document was posted well in advance. There’s been social media marketing, and the IOC has run frequent notices about the games. I just think the IOA weren’t interested in sending a representative.
  10. Da fuq? You really need to check your meds old man . This gave me a genuine hard laugh though, so thank you very much for sharing. Out curiosity, how did @brunamoura and @heywoodu do in the single mixed relay for Brazil?
  11. Well the you can’t really blame the IOC/FIS. They’ve promoted these games well, and really India could have qualified a skier without knowing they exist because of how basic the requirements are. I am sad that India doesn’t get to participate, especially since they’ve always sent good delegations to the Asian Winter Games.
  12. Curling goes live in 5 minutes: https://youtu.be/poffumXiSZQ
  13. In most sports all eligible athletes qualified. Cross Country Skiing and Alpine Skiing gave spots to every country that had a youth skier. India just didn’t have any winter youth athletes (or not any who could meet very easy qualification marks).
  14. Here’s a good video report on the opening ceremony (there is no audio since the Daily Moth is a US based news service that caters to the deaf community):
  15. All quotas known (at least in theory), qualification process complete. Just over 25 days to go until the games!
  16. Luge Quotas: Women’s Single: Men’s Single: (Not sure who rejected a quota (apparently more than one country has), but the US has confirmed a second quota as well) Women’s Doubles: Men’s Doubles: :TPE
  17. I did send the OBS an email to see if they’d give me some answers to questions we came up with, I’ll post the answer if I get one.
  18. This sadly confirms the information I found last week : https://www.olympicchannel.com/events/detail/lausanne-2020-youth-olympic-games/schedule/
  19. I wonder what effect this election will have on the NHS?
  20. That’s where my political hopes get dashed. I’m not hip, and I have an difficult personality. However, I have a lot of great ideas that I truly think could help the country, and often get bipartisan support when polled. I’d never win a race though because I live by the classical model of politics. I do plan to run for political office in the future, but I wouldn’t say my prospects are great.
  21. Right, but a greater part of the “country” still favors LAB/CYU, and by a good majority.
  22. It is really strange. Conservatives has always voted to protect democracy, but now they keep electing these far-right authoritarian leaders. Socialists (who have always favored strong leadership, nationalism, and strong central government) support leaders who want to strengthen democracy. In the last decade we’ve seen a complete flip of ideology.
  23. I don’t know, polls are showing Trump beating everyone currently, which is just insane. Once we get through primaries, I think the party will rally around the “Fuck Trump” message, but until then it will look bleak.
  24. Yes personality/image seems to be the biggest deal breaker in the age of connection. Lying (while saying that you’re not) also seems to be a big factor in winning. Same trend in elections. Worth noting that the world is more polarized then ever. Left countries swinging further, and right countries going further right. Internationally my generation seems ultra liberal. It’s going to be an awesome decade of international politics. Buckle up everyone. Let’s hope and came create some real change in the cycle.
