As @Vojthas just announced on the blog, Gangwon (Korea) will host the 2024 Winter Youth Olympics. There’s a large push for to host the Alpine Skiing events. I doubt it will happen. Though it will show again that the IOC is allowed to engage in politics, while the athletes they lord over, cannot even speak out against their own county’s leaders and sporting officials... -
Yeah, but then I’d lose half of Totallympics Media’s team. We have a quality roster, but the depth isn’t there...

This is the main reason why YOG isn’t up to the quality of an Olympic event yet, and it’s a mindset I don’t understand. The OBS has turned a profit for years. The whole point of that organization is to broadcast the Olympics. So broadcast the Olympics for heaven’s sake!

Rather hard to have live timing for that. Maybe a halfway time check, but that’s about it. It comes down to the nature of the sport.

As I said posted, said, and written in the preview; the Alpine Skiing course have had to be shorten due to heavy rain on the lower part of the course last week.

Not their choice. The OBS is host broadcast for these games, and they made the call what to show.
