  1. No clue. I’ve been looking around for the last week and have seen nothing. Hopefully someone will find a link eventually.
  2. I believe Microplus (company that did Napoli 2019 for example) is supplying the results system. I haven’t seen any links yet though. I also haven’t seen anything about livestreaming, but I believe the EBU is the host broadcaster.
  3. Manuila Raobu bags a gold medal in the snatch. He only had to beat Bautista , but a medal is a medal winning medals is half the fun of these Games anyways
  4. Ada Nebauer won a bronze medal in Va’a. I don’t have the official entries, but I believe she might be the only athlete from Norfolk Island at the Games. Great result for her and the Island either way.
  5. Athletics starts today. Weightlifting stream got blocked on copyright grounds 😑
  6. Action really getting underway today. A few sports streaming on YouTube. I just watched the first session of weightlifting, where Dika Toua won her 13th Oceanian Championship according to the in-house announcer.
  7. First qualification systems were released this week: https://www.anocolympic.org/anoc-new/anoc-publishes-anoc-world-beach-games-qualification-systems-for-seven-core-sports/
  8. won the first gold medal of the Games in women’s team tennis. won their first gold on the men’s side.
  9. Opening ceremony was nice. I’m a bit bummed the livestream wasn’t more stable as the cultural segment looked fun. The drone show at the end was a nice touch
  10. A little bit of preliminary action yesterday and today before the opening ceremony. There are livestreams available, but the quality could be improved. Still, nice to see local organizers trying.
  11. Seattle would like to have a word with you

  13. No way, before you know it will win an ice hockey medal at the Olympics or something… Crazy fantasies am I right?
  14. From a press release sent out by NMPMG2022.
  15. Entries for the team events were announced this morning.
  16. Draw for fistball: https://www.ifa-fistball.com/en/twg-group-drawing/
  17. I believe part of the reasoning, at least from what I’ve read, is to give smaller countries/territories at chance to host the event. The Pacific Mini Games have been held in , which have smaller populations (and in some cases very limited land mass), compared to places the Pacific Games have been held isn’t sending a delegation this year, while is only allowed to compete in weightlifting and athletics I believe. Both countries were only recently allowed to start sending athletes to the Games on a limited basis.
  18. Came across this fun performer video from the 2014 Commonwealth Games. He manages get one of the Cayman Islands athletes to perform the last number of the night with him. That part starts around 18:00
  19. If I’m not mistaken, he’s the first athletes from to qualify for Santiago 2023
  20. is another country with strict gun laws, but they still have sport shooters, and even held shooting as part of the Commonwealth Games. From what I read this morning, it doesn’t sound like the laws pushed by Trudeau really target the weapons used in sport shooting at the Olympic/Pan Am/Commonwealth level. Most of those events use shotguns, small bore rifles, and air guns, which weren’t a part of the proposed legislation as far as I can tell. The BBC even had this quote from Trudeau, “Other than using firearms for sport shooting and hunting, there is no reason anyone in Canada should need guns in their everyday lives.”
