I would recommend forecasting, instead of the current result.

For some unbeknownst reason, here in Lithuania, we don't really have screamers in the throwing events. Our javelin and discus athletes are all pretty chill We do have two shot putters that tend to groan a lot, so you can hear them from the opposite side of the stadium, thankfully, they don't ever qualify anywhere.

I love it when they absolutely scream their lungs out and then end up like 10 meters under the Q

Feels like TISC. After much complaining, you get points.

That's what I meant. So many field/real hockey rip-offs: ice, roller skates etc, and now apparently also on bikes seeing as this is being discussed in a cycling thread

Should have been quicker to conquer those high seas if you wanted more talent, 16th century Polish leaders clearly didn't have a smart mind thinking about future sports results.

Sadly, I can't remember.
But I do remember putting alarm for 5am next morning in order to watch my first ever shooting competition. And how did that end? With totally unexpected bronze for our shooter, winning the very first medal of the Games accross all sports...

Btw, that was the day when I became Olympic lover. It was a hot summer day when my sister and I started to watch this very impressive ceremony.
And the rest is history.

I agree on that...and I don't understand why they don't do it...it shouldn't be that complicated, I guess...

You're right. The federal police knocked on their door and now they're acting all surprised. There are three different police forces in Brazil: civil (they basically investigate crimes), military (they patrol the streets) and the federal police (they combat terrorism, drug trafficking, money laundry... all the big stuff). If the someone from the federal police knocks on your door, you know you screwed things up BIG time. Apparently, the federal police is asking questions about the 2011 World Championships which were staged in Brazil and caused a huge loss of money for the Brazilian Handball Federation. The president of federation at the time was also accused of corruption and money laundry. I think they changed the president, but the federation is pretty much short of money so they have no means to send athletes to major competitions. The Brazilian Olympic Committee usually helps when things get rough, but they are also short on money, and they have to invest in other sports too (rumors say that Valeri Liukin will be hired as the head coach of the women's artistic gymnastics team, and if this turns out to be true, the BOC will be the entity responsible for paying his salary, so they are not wasting any more money on the handball federation anytime soon).
