  1. In terms of how much alike things are, I'd say they are the new Canada/Vanuatu.
  2. Hello IWF, she's Belgian BLR, BEL, nearly the same. Ok, there's no 'R' in Belgium and just the name itself already suggest Belgium (or at the very least not something Russia-like), but you know, at least the flags look alike, or something.
  3. Yes, everyone in the west is clearly against the famous Russia-Ukraine alliance of recent years.
  4. That's quite poor indeed, especially coming from someone who ruled the sport with an iron fist for 7-8 years as if that's normal.
  5. German hosted or in German? Because the one I remember was definitely in English
  6. Isn't/wasn't there a website for that? Specifically aimed at athletics? Both for Olympics and world champs I seem to remember.
  7. Or at least the 439 with a post
  8. More than I thought Although I guess sadly a large percentage of that basically never comes out of the National Threads section?
  9. And how many with at least, say, 20 posts in the last 12 months?
  10. Kulizhnikov to Dutch TV: "I won 7 of the 11 500m's and still that doesn't mean you win the World Cup, that's not fair." After which he also apologized to the people
  11. According to a Russian coach it was because of 'little physical problems' and they only wanted to start to secure the World Cup points, but of course nobody believes that Mark Tuitert and Erben Wennemars on Dutch TV are absolutely mad as fuck, steam is basically shooting straight out of their ears Sure, it was incredibly disrespectful but also hilarious
  12. Hahaha, Murashov and Kulizhnikov trolling everyone and their dog in the very last, super mega hyped race of the season....by going slow, opening in 11+ and finishing in nearly 40 seconds
  13. In which she was 3,8 seconds closer to a medal than in the relay. I find that quite unbelievable Like you said, on her day Laukkanen could very much content with the highest levels (I remember the beautiful double in Oslo, the day after her old shooting coach died and she finally had a good shooting result right in that race), but that's basically it. I'm hopeful for their future though, they've got some good juniors (M/W) if I'm not mistaken.
  14. To think the closest Kaisa came to an Olympic medal was basically in a relay of all places
  15. Yuskov might have gotten back his WR if he didn't lose one and a half second by not shaving
  16. Yeah in that factor it's most likely not different from any other sport, but pretty much everyone agrees that these specific weeks are because of top shape and top ice, otherwise they'd have been way faster in the run-up to the Olympics instead of in the non-important post-Olympic season.
  17. Quite a bad comparison, since in swimming they did so with suits that became illegal after a while. Here everything falls into place (top shape, top conditions, everything), which might happen again even though it'd take some years.
  18. Patrick Roest is the new all-time world leader, after Shani Davis has held that position for a LONG time.
  19. Only 22 years ago Ids Postma was the first man to do so
  20. Well if Takagi goes sub-1:50, it's up to the men to go sub-1:40
  21. In 1987, Karin Kania was the first ever to go sub-2:00 In 2001, Anni Friesinger was the first ever to go sub-1:55 In 2005, Cindy Klassen was the first ever to go sub-1:53 AND sub-1:52 In 2015, Heather Bergsma was the first ever to go sub-1:51 In 2019, Miho Takagi is the first ever to go sub-1:50
  22. Kelly Catlin, 23 years old, has ended her life this weekend https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelly_Catlin Olympic silver and three world titles, all in the team pursuit.
