Generally in most sports you can say that choking is only the case when someone is giving away something big in a kind of stupid way. Say, an alpine skier who is in gold medal position and then goes down after 5 seconds in the deciding run. Or a tennis player on match point who smashes it in the net and then gets his serve broken and loses the match. Those kind of things Not even Shiffrin really choked actually, since she didn't actually have anything in hand yet.

Well, yeah, but in alpine skiing slalom two runs count, so.... Also just want to make clear that my statement about this being heartbreaking is nothing against Vlhova at all, she had an awesome run But in gold medal position until 75% of the course and then out of the medals by hundredths....damn

That's not choking... Choking is what Shiffrin did. Posting a normal run instead of another fantastic run isn't choking at all, that's just...a normal run.

Weird to watch yesterday's qualifying, but good to see Jaque have quite a decent race and Duda having a really good race, only 9 seconds behind Jaque. Even better to see Duda finish the way she did, she very clearly gave absolutely everything she had. It's a shame this is how it went, but she proved herself an impressive and worthy replacement and should be very proud of her Olympic debut!

With Eurosport Player it's super duper easy, but yeah, I doubt that's available there...
