  1. 5th place for Meillard with BIB 40, wtf This girl is such an insane talent
  2. Shiffrin seems to be showing early on who is the best slalom skier in the world
  3. Vonn is out. AGAIN! She broke some bone in her arm and it doesn't seem like she'll be back this month/year (hopefully at least this season..). I honestly can't even imagine how she manages to always get back and motivated to come back after the millionth injury..
  4. Anyone who wants to be the best speed skater ever of a certain country without having to improve a whole lot For Slovakia he would make a real difference, for Poland he wouldn't
  5. But whenever he got his chance, he didn't take it. Always finishing like 10th-20th or even higher in B-divisions, then you're just really, really far away from being close to a top level.. Don't get me wrong, it's always good to have a decent back-up for the team pursuit, but if the three who are much better don't get injured/sick/whatever, he isn't needed Of course it's weird to assure someone he'll race in the Olympics and then not give him a chance, but that doesn't change that in 10 years he just never really showed that he would be good enough to be more than one of the many B-division skaters
  6. Oh well, Szymanski, Niedzwiedski and Brodka are all (much) better to be honest. Druszkiewicz was/is not much more than just another name in the start lists: in the past 10 years he had only 32 individual World Cup starts and 31 of those were in the B-division. Poland actually loses...basically nothing in terms of results now that he's gone
  7. He already competed for CZE since last season. Well, he didn't compete at all in all of 2015, but at the end of last season he started competing for CZE. I guess because he has been a member of Sablikova's team for quite a while now.
  8. As for today: little surprising win for Nao Kodaira in the women's 500m, where she and compatriot Maki Tsuji showed strong form already. All Dutch girls, Vanessa Herzog (ex-Bittner) and Hong Zhang were somewhat disappointing. Martina Sablikova of course won the 3000m, although Marije Joling, Ivanie Blondin and Antoinette de Jong gave a good fight. So did Ireen Wüst in a direct race against Sablikova, but as always, she lost too much time in the last 2 laps (she was ahead until then) Sven Kramer won the 5000m after of course a fight with Jorrit Bergsma Erik Jan Kooiman had a nice fight with the very talented New Zealander Peter Michael and took 3rd place.
  9. Three Colombians in Harbin tomorrow Pedro Causil in the 500m B-division, just like last season. He seems to have improved a lot, so I hope he can qualify for the A-division. Andres Campo will debut in the mass start A-division after being in one B-race last season and Daniel Zapata will be in the mass start B-division http://live.isuresults.eu/2016-2017/harbin/
  10. Oh, didn't know that existed too Edit: Wait, I do. I just forgot. I sometimes watch it when the most annoying of our annoying commentators is spewing his boring crap on the Dutch stream
  11. It's all for fun, no problem if it's moved a week or two weeks or three weeks
  12. The season is finally getting underway for real World Cup in Harbin, China, started earlier today with the B-division in three distances. Starting in 2 minutes, these three distances will have the A-divisions (the real deal): women's 500m, men's 5000m (let's go Peter Michael ), women's 3000m. In case anyone is interested, Dutch public TV shows all A-divisions live here (don't know if it works outside NED) http://nos.nl/livestream/2141922-schaatsen-wb-harbin.html
  13. Yeah, no, he's not realistically going to actually build a wall
  14. Actually on CNN they were talking a lot about how impressive Trump's results were, I also expected to see something like the opposite, but they surprised me positively. It stays weird that Trump is campaigning against "the elite" though, while he himself is a billionaire...I mean, it's not like he is exactly an everyday Joe that one can identify with.
  15. Still that race there was insane for a moment, over 8 million votes counted and 28 votes difference
  16. Those states voting to bring the death penalty back, damn
  17. 95% chance for Trump to win, Clinton only has a chance if she turns around Michigan and Arizona.
  18. Bookmakers are going to 75% chance for Trump to win, dear Lord it's happening
  19. 50/50 at the bookmakers, Trump has already been the favourite for a few seconds. He is doing incredibly well to be honest!
  20. If Trump actually manages to take Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina (3 states where he took the lead in the past half hour), Virginia, Georgia and Florida (where he is leading), he only needs 8 more electoral votes somewhere in the "swing states".
  21. This is outright bizarre...over 8 million votes counted in Florida and the difference between Clinton and Trump? 28 votes!
  22. Ah, it might be that r/The_Donald just screams everything so loud that whatever they yell ends up at the front page
  23. Wait, Reddit is pro-Democrat? Whenever I go there, it's absolutely filled to the top with pro-Trump crap
  24. The Florida results so far are showing a "clear" win for Clinton now that Broward County is in Trump is doing surprisingly well in Virginia though, where Clinton was the favourite.
  25. By the way, when looking only at "almost certain" states, this is what the map looks like: If you also add the states that are likely to vote Democrat/Republic or are leaning towards one of them, we get this: Basically it's safe to say that in terms of "safe" states, Clinton has a small advantage, but there's a very large advantage when it comes to states where she has the biggest chance to win.
