  1. Does anyone have some more info on the Athlos thing in New York in two days? The official website lacks most basic information, like even a timetable. https://athlos.com/
  2. Seems like it's all on Spotify, with two exceptions I think: can't find Tunisia's song anywhere and also not the right version for Malta, it seems.
  3. And now they have enough of them to have their own race, which is why they will It wasn't great, but women's cycling was just way too small to fill three categories with a serious peloton. Luckily it's a lot better now.
  4. Not enough U23 women to have a competitive event. That was the reason, nowadays it's definitely better, which is why this is the last year with this construction, from next year on the U23 women will have their actual own races.
  5. Well now I have another team to cheer for besides and , so go
  6. If you've always watched things like football World Cup and Euros and such, but never futsal, this is such an oddly interesting thing to follow As a total noob, I was assuming kind of similar countries as in football would do good, and partially that is correct, but here we have the first knockout round set after today and I see Costa Rica, Ukraine, Venezuela, Paraguay, Afghanistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Thailand.....cool
  7. There's no beating an in-shape Evenepoel.
  8. Jay Vine fell once again, even in a time trial. Sadly he is really the prime example that being strong on Swift doesn't make you a capable cyclist. In terms of power and such, sure, but steering....Vine is just nowhere near the basic level of bike control people have when they start in the junior ranks.
  9. Evenepoel with a mechanical issue, about a minute before his start in the time trial. Got underway in time though.
  10. @hckošice I posted the Martikan thing on a Dutch forum, because it's cool, and there the question arose: is Martikan the number one sports hero in Slovakia? The exact question was: "Is he more popular than Peter the Great?" You know, cycling is a very big deal in the Netherlands, so everyone here knows Sagan, whereas only a handful of diehard sports addicts will have ever heard of Martikan, making it hard to guess how it is in Slovakia. Looking at the time from independence until now, who would you say is the number one sports hero in terms of popularity, respect and such?
  11. Wow, I was just checking yesterday's results, came across the semi and saw: My first thought: "Surely Martikan has a son and named him Michal as well?!" Hot damn, 45 years old and after 7 years a medal again, I thought he had long retired Legend!
  12. I'll have a look tomorrow, thanks! Something like this really stands or falls with the way it is broadcast, for example the 5k races at the Samarkand world championships recently were broadcast horribly and that made it just very shitty to follow A quick glance at this one makes it look like this is definitely done better.
  13. Thanks. Odd though, the term marathon is generally used - apart from athletics - to signify something long. It's basically like saying something is the "short distance long distance event"
  14. What is a 'short distance marathon' event?
  15. gave away a lead again (2-0 to 2-2), but finally they managed to actually take the win after all
  16. The Israeli army leadership being full of war criminals, doesn't mean Hezbollah aren't terrorists.
  17. Like it wasn't bad enough, countries aren't going to be announced as the country anymore, they're now officially racing under super lame forced nicknames. Dutch Lions Korean Tigers American Eagles Belgian Ice Bears etc.
  18. Depends on if you've got things like work or a child (or more) to worry about. If not (no children, free from work/school), I honestly think the time zone really doesn't matter, no matter if it's 12 hours ahead, 12 hours back or the same as one lives in Edit: I should specify I mean this for an event lik the Olympics specifically, so a roughly 2-week period. It is of course a lot harder for the regular sports seasons throughout the year, one can hardly throw around their daily schedules all year long as easy as for a 2-week period.
  19. Summer Grand Prix, yep I can only wish winter had started For me in terms of sports that always starts to come in October, when the alpine skiing World Cup is in Sölden, just a few more weeks!
  20. Lots of cycling (also from the previous week to catch up on) F1 and F1 Academy MotoGP/2/3 World Superbike/Supersport/WCR Ski jumping (although it's in Romania sadly, so it may be impossible to watch) Some futsal World Cup Darts, mostly the highlights Sports climbing Trying to follow some canoe slalom since the Olympics (World Cup finals this week), but since it's yet another relatively obscure sport asking for monthly payments, it is sadly mostly a matter of just checking the results. And in between trying to catch up on some junior racing I've very much been forgetting this year, FRECA, several F4 championships, Red Bull Rookies, etc.
  21. Wait, am I seeing it correctly that we've got a full group stage with tons of matches in the 2025 World Cup now, months away from 2025, and then have literally two matches somewhere halfway next year?
  22. Finally something we can all agree on
  23. They need to buy those somewhere though, so if just like the pagers they get intercepted....whoops and b00m
  24. That is excellent news! For example last time, John Steel Hagenbuch was the best of everyone in the pursuit, but only got bronze because he had to start almost 40 seconds behind and Ryo Hirose's great individual race granted him a significantly easier chance for a second gold medal, which is rather unfair.
